Over the weekend, I got the keys to the #Bitcoin Café. In exactly a month, we will be opening the doors. (8/21)

Obviously, I am in over my head. We still have to plan the menu, get the Bitcoin mugs, paint the walls, get chairs and tables, hire a barista, get coffee machines, install a Bitcoin bookshelf… and the list goes on and on.

So amidst all the chaos, this reminds me of life. Life is not about the destination, but the journey. So I wanted to take the time to take it all in. To stop and smell the roses. To thank you for being such a big part of BTC Isla.

If a year ago, when the first class of BTC Isla students were graduating, you had told me we’d be opening a Bitcoin Café… I would have laughed and said you were crazy. But here we are. A year later. And it’s real. 🧡

We are going all in, about to embark on this journey. Am I scared? Heck yeah.

The noise of this cycle is going to be stablecoin fervor, real world asset tokenization and a resurgence of "blockchaining all of the things" (especially AI).

The signal will be bitcoin maturing as a preferred collateral asset in private credit markets, the continued maturation of the lightning network and other second layers that facilitate payments, bitcoin mining becoming even more integrated with our energy systems and passive DCAs from companies both private and public that convert a portion of their cash flows to bitcoin.

The biggest “productivity hack” I have is just not watching television.

What little I watch is very intentional.

In the second half of 2024, I watched Blue Eye Samurai (8 episodes) and Arcane (18 episodes).

In 2025 I watched the first season of Invincible (8 episodes). Usually during lunch, on my computer.

One thing I realized is that since coming back from Egypt three months ago, I didn’t turn on any of our televisions. They were off for the three months I was in Egypt as well.

So when my husband came back he’s like “…why the hell are all the televisions messed up, all apps logged out of, remotes basically dead?”

Last night we got one of the televisions working and watched Deadpool and Wolverine, lol.
