⚡️💬 NEW - Singer Billie Eilish is calling out billionaires for not donating enough of their money to charity.
Eilish is donating $11.5 million to combat food inequity and climate change.
“There are a few people here who have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but give your money away, shorties.”

Lot of butt hurt billionaires on Nostr huh?
Unless you’ve got buddies in government. Then, fuck the plebs am I right?
So instead you should just hoard the fiat right? Straight from the money printer to your pockets
I thought bitcoiners realized that the money was broken and billionaires aren’t actually rich because they are productive contributors to society…
Amazing interview here. We are training our kids for an authoritarian state. As you think about the experience that you are curating for your kids, ask the question: how are you going to provide a free range childhood? What does this look like in the digital realm as well?
Thinking about kids and how to give them the best childhood to prepare them for life.
There is no small government party in the USA 🇺🇸 and there is no such thing as the “best of two bad options”. Stop defending the problem
Agreed, and I certainly see plenty of that from some people here, but I also see plenty of people engaging in good faith, who are misunderstanding the intent whether because they genuinely don’t understand (see point about 3rd grade reading level) or because they are bringing a bias into the conversation. Maybe you’re not going to change many minds that are already biased in one direction, but you can certainly avoid pushing away those who don’t understand. And the optimist in me wants to believe that with the right message you might even find common ground with a few of the biased participants who are genuinely open to hearing other perspectives.
can’t imagine why… 😅 thanks for engaging with the community and making this a place more than an echo chamber
Like I said, take it or leave it, but “left” vs. “leftist” is being lost on most people in the exchanges that I’m reading here on Nostr, regardless of what they “should” know. I just think that in these charged conversations, nuance is often lost. Gotta keep it at a 3rd grade reading level, and “leftist” as a technical term ain’t it
I just think all these terms get thrown around haphazardly by most people. Right wing politicians would love to blur the lines between Leftist and left-ish. So even though you might be using it in a more technical way, I just don’t think that’s how it’s always perceived, especially for those who aren’t actually that involved in politics, and don’t really know the difference. You can take this advice or leave it, but I think you’d get less pushback if you subbed “leftist” for “left extremist” or something like that.
nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs the people in the comments are saying this not to fight with you, but because they know you’re one of the best we’ve got, and we don’t want to lose you to the political whirlpool that seems to suck in everything good.
In the last few days, your posts have used the term “leftist” far more than ever before, and specifically I think you are referring to “left extremists”, which you outline in one of your posts, but for most, I don’t think this is obvious. The term “leftist” is NOT universally accepted to mean an extremist on the left. For most people, it just means that they have more liberal leaning political views. That is the dictionary definition of a “leftist”. So when moderate liberals who are a fan of you and your work read your posts and are moved to comment that you are being divisive, I think it’s because they feel like you’re lumping them into this category.
I think it’s a really good thing for Trey to step in because he can be a foil to you in some ways, to rally the Nostr-left around productive, unifying perspectives.
In this particular case the person who died aligns strongly with your personal choices and values as a father, Christian, American, etc. and that is something that I can respect deeply on a personal level. But I think that the outcry from your followers on Noster is due to the fact that you have been such a leader in a bigger mission that unifies a diverse group of perspectives. Of course it is your choice if you want to use your platform to switch your focus, but I think I speak for many of us who hope that you’ll keep pushing in a direction that focuses on these universal truths and rights that we as Americans believe in that bridge the gaps between left and right: personal freedoms, and sovereignty.
You and I undoubtedly disagree on a lot of personal issues, but I respect your perspective and I am grateful for your championing of these universal rights that can unite people of all viewpoints.
Is that supposed to be a teacher carrying a Louis Vuitton purse on 100k/year? I think everyone can agree that a lot of money is being wasted by an inefficient system, but don’t get fooled into thinking that teacher salaries are where money is being wasted. The overhead on special programs, administration and legal protections is out of control. 100k might be the average, but 60k is the starting salary for teachers in the Chicago area… when you consider that the average housing cost is 2k/month, that means you have to go through 4-6 years of school, and be willing to make a salary that puts you in a position where you can’t afford the average housing costs on 1/3 of your income, with little room for upward mobility and a hard cap on earnings… not to mention that we all know that 100k isn’t what it once was. Auto workers are making 40% more than 4 years ago… teachers, not so much… As long as teacher pay is structured this way, it should be no surprise that we’re not getting the best and brightest teaching our kids.
If you’re not paying for your burritos over 2 years, you’re short bitcoin

Awesome episode nostr:npub1cn4t4cd78nm900qc2hhqte5aa8c9njm6qkfzw95tszufwcwtcnsq7g3vle one question for next week though: You talk about Bitcoin as a “truth machine”. It strikes me that we have seen big dips when big re-alignments in truth have occurred in the last few months. I’m thinking about Deep Seek and tariff announcements. Is it the case that these events make things less clear and therefore bitcoin is losing value for some reason, or could it actually be the opposite, which is that funds that own bitcoin are selling their bitcoin during moments of clarity, because it’s the most liquid asset and they redirect those funds to capitalize on new information, then when the market prices in that new information we reach a “truth equilibrium”, they sell their position in the known bet, and re-enter bitcoin for the debasement bet. In other words, debasement is the most obvious truth to bet on if you’re not sure where else to put your money, because it’s then easy to move out of the high percentage move to capitalize on momentary imbalances before returning to the high percentage play?

So… news breaks in Chinese markets, and only American investment firms with bitcoin positions can react. They sell
Bitcoin to raise capital to put into the Chinese market, bitcoin goes down. Then when the US market opens, they sell Nvidia etc. and buy back bitcoin (at a new lower price).
Meanwhile investment firms that don’t own (actual) bitcoin are stuck until American markets open, missing the Chinese gains, eating the BTC losses if they own etf’s, and trying their best to escape the Nvidia tumble…
Does everyone buy bitcoin now?
