i only wish it had a setting to automatically decrypt DMs

i'm getting really severe trust issues with #nostr dev community rn

there is a really big problem brewing in #nostr

there is no client to test a relay with

the clients all have logic to try other relays all the time for whatever reasons

the clients don't show clear information about the status of connections with relays

the clients for whatever reason decline to send messages to the relays

i set up three users all connected to one relay and have them all follow each other and nothing comes up on the #coracle feed page, though i can copy the links to the posts each one makes and see them in the others

how can i test that my relay works if the client assumes it can't rely on one relay to see events?

there is no way to test a relay standalone in this entire ecosystem right now

you can't be sure your relay is working, it's not possible to be sure it's working, the client doesn't let you be sure, none of them

and i can have both my instance running on that commit and the mainline from coracle.social and send messages from coracle.social to my relay chat bot and silence but i send them via that commit version and both sent and received messages appear in the mainline one as well, but not from the mainline

nostr.wine is a good relay i use it and nostr.land (atlas/eden)

my relay NIP-42 auth is now pretty much working perfectly... last night it was misbehaving but this morning works fantastic... spent my time falling asleep thinking about how i was gonna check through all the websocket code to figure out why it was not receiving messages from coracle but yeah it just works now so whatever

it isn't less profitable when there is such a large number of transactions to choose from

usually in any given block when traffic is heavy a lot that ends up deferred by some block templating algorithms are as profitable as the ones that get in
