Next Saturday, April 5 I'm moderating a fireside chat on nostr at the #MITBitcoinExpo. I'll be joined by nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z and nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s to discuss what nostr means for freedom tech and the unique challenges of building on it.
I hope you'll join us! Visit mitbitcoinexpo.org for tickets. Historically, the expo has always been live streamed so I'm hopeful it will be again this year!

Paging nostr:npub1gjytv79y2p9uydm7n7y4x038rgphl88zpjcrv26d6w0p97a98zys3sektz! π
Yes! Thanks for asking! I will check to see when it will be uploaded.
Every time I create a PR to an open source project

Just sent you a DM with the code!
This is a great summary of the arguments for and against burning coins that do not (eventually) upgrade to a quantum resistant signature scheme. I hadnβt considered the possibility that anyone had a choice in the matter, but the more I think about it, the more I am in favor of burning quantum vulnerable coins.

I just heard back from the MIT Bitcoin expo organizers and they are going to provision the codes and get them to me this weekend. I will keep you posted!
Thatβs great! As far as I know you just have to present your student ID at check in, I donβt believe you need to be an MIT student :)
They went fast! Iβll let you know if they do anymore giveaways. With 30% off itβs $105 (or $14 if you are a student!)

Hah! I feel like I HAVE to say itβs better than Candy Crush but itβs a close one. Candy Crush is pretty good π¬ππ«

This Saturday! Come learn about magic of bitcoin open source software (BOSS), why you should consider getting involved in it, and the resources that are available to you.
And play Saving Satoshi. Because bitcoin is better with friends π
They make cookie cakes for it now
Jaleel White (aka Steve Urkle) voices ALL three main characters in the 1999 Sonic Underground cartoon.
Anyways the theme song for this show was a banger and children donβt get enough metal in their media diet these days.
βTriplets born, the throne awaits
A seer warns of a deathly fate
Give up your children, separate
Bide your time, lie in wait!β
Searching for cool bitcoin merch made by bitcoiners! I'm putting together prize packs for an event and would love to support the community.

nostr:npub1s6z7hmmx2vud66f3utxd70qem8cwtggx0jgc7gh8pqwz2k8cltuqrdwk4c I saw you are speaking at the MIT Bitcoin Expo this year! If you are around the Thursday before, there is a Boston BitDevs event. Would love if you could attend! https://evento.so/p/evt_yYwEjZFAAkBMAGL9
I think it all depends on the person. If you are interested, nostr:npub10p33xu03t8q7d9nxtks63dq4gmt4v4d3ppd5lcdp4rg9hxsd0f8q7mn2l2 has a free Intro to Rust course, made for bitcoiners: https://btcdemy.thinkific.com
I wouldnβt let a limited knowledge of c++ or rust hold you back if the program is something you are enthusiastic about. You could always start it and take a step back if the time commitment is too much.
Who here has done one of the Chaincode bitcoin/lighting seminars?
https://chaincode.gitbook.io/seminars nostr:note1a2uumkkqr2x70nnrqdjl6a8hl00fmvxgey0fctenrpu52lz8hmkqfhnmhe
Not limited to senior devs! If youβre serious about leveling up, Chaincode will provide you with all the resources you need. You do the work but they give you the path and support for success.
Itβs truly unlike any program out there. If this was around in 2016 when I started paying attention to bitcoin, I would have joined the world of bitcoin open source (BOSS, because bitcoin + FOSS = BOSS) much, much sooner. I still made it, but it took me a lot longer to find my way π (my first job at a bitcoin company was early 2019).
Like much of open source, for the BOSS program, attitude and willingness to do the work are valued more than experience.
It came down to the wire but I finished my sonβs Sonic costume last night! The art kid in me was so excited to do this. Happy Halloween! Happy whitepaper day!
At the risk of diminishing the importance of personal responsibility, finding a spouse that can and will protect you and your fam is huge!!
Makes sense to me! Iβm sure you can imagine the context in which I was asking this question π€ I should have come straight to you, haha!
Whatβs the latest on capitalization rules for βBitcoinβ? Itβs my understanding that βBitcoinβ the network is capitalized and βbitcoinβ the currency is lowercase. However, that seems to have fallen out of favor with the preference to always have it lowercase.
Anyone have an opinion on this? Iβm writing some copy for a project and want to follow the most widely used convention.
Itβs been 5 years since I used Java but being an enterprise Java dev is so traumatizing the first thing I thought of when I saw this note was βyou wouldnβt last an hour in the asylum where they raised meβ ππ
I think itβs the lightning address?
I used to be a ZBD girl (I think? lol) before they pulled out of the state of Massachusetts π₯²
Sadly, electricity delivery costs are too expensive where I live for running an ASIC π« What about you?
GM and PV from me and my cup of tea! π₯°
Welcome! So happy to see more people checking nostr out! Decentralization is the future βπΌ
Yes!! I think there is some truth to the old wives tale that heartburn during pregnancy = a head of hair π
