How great would it be to have a self hosted Nostr caching service that regularly pulls the latest Nostr notes + media from multiple relays over TOR so that your public IP address doesn’t leak to relays and your Nostr App only pulls content from your self hosted caching service. nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll would this be something that can be realized once we have more options on clearnet with start 9?
Would love to see Primal caching on StartOS. In the meantime, noStrudel is quite amazing and already available. It runs a caching service and works well, even over Tor.
nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll you should get StartOS added to the Alby marketplace. This doesn't look right without it 😉
What would it mean to have StartOS on the Alby marketplace? You mean like an affiliate marketing thing? Alby team is well aware of StartOS. If they choose not to support/recommend StartOS, not much we can do 🤷♂️
What do you mean "broadcast everything manually"? When you create a note, it automatically gets broadcast to all your connected relays, at least the ones that permit writing.
What exactly are you trying to do. I think there might be some confusion about how Nostr works.
A relay only knows what it learns from clients. Relays do not talk to eachother like they do it Bitcoin.
You can't just spin up a relay and expect it to know anything.
Don't use a monitor? Servers usually run headless.
nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll will y'all be at Defcon again this year?
No, don't think we're too welcome in that community.

Wen nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll phone
Never felt confident to build my own server. The server is amazing and ready for the next device
Phone is a few devices down the list haha. But we have a new device coming later this year ;)
I see. Yeah, the difference is that Tor has decent support from client browsers/applications, where as i2p does not. For example, it won't matter if your LND grpc interface is available over i2p because no wallets would support connecting to it.
This doesn't mean we won't support i2p network connection, it just means it's not a top priority.
We are focusing our immediate networking efforts around VPN and clearnet usage. Combined with Tor and local connectivity, this will make StartOS servers very accessible.
nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll can we get native i2p support?
Can you be more specific. What use case do you have in mind?
Have you tried putting back in your pants then tacking it out again?
That would be for the xpriv, no? You said you want the xpub
nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll
How do I get the xpub from my CLN wallet in Start9? Will this ever be an option?
You are the first to ever ask for this, curious what your use case is.
I believe this can be done from the CLI using dumponchaindescriptors command.
You'll need to SSH into the server and access the CLN container.

We didn't know Shopify did this. Fixed.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We use Shopify for this store, and they do this by default. I have enabled the feature that allows visitors to opt out.

Do we? Defintiely not something we were aware of. We use Shopify for our fiat e-commerce store. Maybe this is some default or Shopify itself doing the tracking. I'll look into it.
