Helps make us much stronger at being able to reason through design decisions and understand what we're talking about, pushing past mantras and "influencers" to come to personal understanding of these things.

Kick-starting #Bitcoin #SkepticismSundays ๐Ÿ˜Ž

One of the things that showed me the intellectual honesty of the Monero community and helped to force the community to stay grounded in reality and always laser focused on their core ethos was their weekly "Skepticism Sunday" Reddit threads. These threads allowed the community to come together, ask hard and skeptical questions about the design of Monero, the privacy provided, the economic approach, and much more.

In my time in Bitcoin I've never seen anything similar, but the nuanced and high-signal crowd on Nostr seems like a perfect fit to fire things up and see how it goes.

The goal of this thread (which I'll post weekly on Sunday's) is for discussing the uncertainties, shortcomings, and concerns some may have about Bitcoin.

NOT the positive aspects of it.

Discussing things with a critical thinking approach and level-headed discussion helps us learn where Bitcoin and it's community can improve and go from there.

I know this is late on Sunday, will post earlier next week but would love to hear y'all's thoughts on the concept or skepticism ๐Ÿ™‚

It's been 2y ๐Ÿ˜ข

Solves some of the biggest issues in LN, really wish we weren't so dependent on one entity to improve LN overall.

Who do I have to know or bribe to get it implemented in LND ๐Ÿ˜…

#[0], is your app open-sourced? Can't find any links on your site, at least not easily!

90GB already, holy shit...

Was it a very popular relay?

Yeah, have been having network issues and finally narrowed it down to a bad NIC.

Temp fix in place and permanent fix tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

There's no harm in trying to rebroadcast, only one can get through properly anyways and it's much more likely the high fee one will and the other will be discarded as a double spend.

I run my node with 1G mempool, probably increasing soon because I have the resources to spare so might as well!

Thank you for all your hard work, can't wait to hear more on what you're doing next ๐Ÿ™‚

Exactly, there is a good balance that has to be hit IMO as vulnerabilities and open doors to malicious app installation could be more harmful than anything else in many scenarios, especially if you have any reason at all to be targeted.

If you trust google with security of apps (I do, it's something they're very good at) it's a much more secure way of getting apps than anything else.

The only draw back (and it is a drawback!) is that you have to be signed in to use it, but can just do a burner account.

Aurora could easily be compromised and serve malicious apps, and there are potential concerns with the fake "anon" account being compromised as well.

F-Droid is solid and I use it for a few things, but obviously tons of things aren't on F-Droid because the actual publishing policies and setup is a nightmare.

It's very mediocre IMO, no reason to avoid Google Camera if you just disable network access when installing.

Then you full features without privacy/security issues!
