A disengaged airline pilot with a thirst for wisdom (& #Bitcoin) Documenting what I've learnt through letters to my son, Reg.

It appears not drinking alcohol has become trendy.

I've been largely Teetotal for 10 years, but the contrarian in me now makes me want to get blind drunk every night.

Got 8000 hours doing it.

2000 more to go and Malcolm Gladwell tells me I'll be an expert.

He's got himself quite the evening there.

"We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons (thins bones)"

You've got to love a sell off that has nothing to do with the fundamentals of #bitcoin.

If only I had some fiat lying around.

Got so bullish watching this episode it took everything I had not to start touching myself.

would love to start using 'a bit Weimar-y' in my everyday parlance.

I fear I'd struggle to find the right audience.

All my life, I've been late to the party:

I became an Airline Pilot 20 years too late.

I started an online marketing agency 10 years too late.

I started having kids 5 years too late.

Which is why I still can't believe I've stumbled in early to #bitcoin and #nostr.

Put your zaps where your likes are.

You don't need to be intelligent.

But you do need to be good at recognising intelligence in others.

Thankfully over the last Decade I've heeded the advice of intelligent people, and my life is in a far better place because of it.

I'm not sure.

When I was a newb, Bitcoin was nothing more than a speculative investment. Therefore, the sensationalism and bull posting on X got me excited & intrigued enough to actually do the work and start learning about it.

Now I have strong conviction founded in my own education, X is less attractive to me and Nostr, as you said, is high signal and just more interesting.

Some solid wisdom there
