Just another cog in a machine.

Fair.

I'm glad it's not just me, but having had some background in business would have likely allowed me to skip a few ... learning experiences.

There are still some programs, but they are the exception and not the norm.

They faded out for a number of reasons, but primarily that students were looking to go on to college/University instead of learning a trade and entering the work force after graduation.

Add to that an increasingly litigious legal climate and risk adverse administrations, and the funding dried up predictably.

I was fortunate to have a good VoTech nearby in the that helped me into a medical electronics company immediately after graduation.

(I just looked it up and it's still operational)

My experience is specifically within the US.

Aside from VW, the majority of rear beam vehicles have been the entry cost economy vehicles and minivans.

Most are some form of multi-link independent rear.

What made the c1 work was the 10 link, passive rear steer system. (Albeit problematic over time in climates that are hard on elastomer bushings,. The Sonora desert and the Mojave, for example.)

An old comment about FLR's designs.

"He creates beautiful buildings with roofs that leak."

Additional note-

Gammage auditorium has had similar issues since new as well.

The perspective of my minis on the table when I've left the fan on.
