#Rita reads the NR tech newsletter, So should all Nostriches. šŸ’œ nostr:note1jgwhpqfxne8mtksklm8t583cmpa09zq5makpj5x0uh3lym6sn5vsjl6w2z

I think incentives will allow for people to lean to something closer to real life values. Anonymity will still incentivize bad behavior, but hopefully closer to how we act differently in traffic compared to in person. Still not fantastic, but better.

Bad notes are a trade off for having free speech. Fuck censorship, fuck unenforceable policies, deal with it.

Lightning may be just an experiment that needs to break in order to get to a better solution. Bitcoin doesn't need lightning. Nostr does, for now. Other kinds of layer-2 solutions will be created, I think it's probable many kinds will survive.

This is the conversation, solutions are offered, it's not just one note.

As an online environment I think we would do well to write a list of principles to point people to. Similar to the 10 principles of Burning Man perhaps. Here are some ideas, what would you add?

Verify the note (your own too)

Don't trust the note

Practice v4v

Participate (help build)

Be constructive (use your own skills)

Zap the other

Have a mindset

Accept bad notes as a a trade off

It's an opinion piece substantiated on incomplete data, biased and un nuanced.

Individuals, or groups of individuals, are unfit to govern.

Humanity needs simple protocols in stead.
