When the approved opinion was about how important voting is, I was totally comfortable sharing your position.

Now that we're seeing articles about how too many people are voting and that voting is a threat to "our Democracy", I've become a bit unsure.

Interesting times. Who would have guessed that the post Civil War amendment would cause the next Civil War.

If you haven't checked out Stacker News recently, it's becoming a full on substitute for reddit.

I agree with that, I think. I don't think Bitcoin makes any of that stuff worse. I can see the argument that nostr could increase porn related problems, although I think porn is going to be almost entirely AI generated pretty soon.

And she could have gotten away with it if not for that meddling 14th ammendment.

It was so sad when that business burned down next Wednesday.

Don't overlook how heavily subsidized it is either. The US government spends more per capita on "health care" than those filthy socialized health care systems.

Talk about a distinction without a difference.

That seems like a pretty serious vulnerability.

I'm starting to feel more optimistic about this, at least in the near and medium term.

We've been talking about the same thing at Stacker News (https://stacker.news/r/Undisciplined) and I'm realizing that our first-mover advantage might let us set an enduring culture.

If people come to nostr and their partisan shitposting falls on deaf ears, they might conform with our civil discourse or they might just leave.

It's on us, then, to engage with good content and maintain this culture that we all seem to appreciate.
