The first time I encountered this concept was in the fourth turning. Seems to be correct.

#SESSIONSXMAS25
Do you think that if the public in Australia were allowed to carry guns, that some random Muslim would be able to spend 20 minutes shooting people at the beach?
Just been having a gander through your shots. It really is quite amazing. I live in NZ and it's really easy to forget what's on your doorstep during the day to day. Headed out for a bush walk with the Mrs and young fella yesterday, swam in the river and through a little cave with glowworms. All 5 minutes from my house. Enjoy!
That looks really cool. Thank you.
β€οΈ absolutely. You never know how long you'll have them.
Some. Depends where you're at I guess. Regardless, I think most people can wait until they get to a PC or use a web version instead of app if they're in that much of a hurry.
Good stuff! It's layout will be very familiar for you if you currently use Google photos. Host on your own domain via reverse proxy/cloudflare tunnel or use something like Tailscale so you don't have to expose anything. I have family using my instance so have a domain, but if it's just you, tailscale is fucking perfect.
If you're into self hosting Immich is a great replacement for Google Photos. Maintains data sovereignty.
Yes you do. Important. I'm in New Zealand, we had actually very relaxed gun laws until the Christchurch mosque got attacked. The govt outlawed assault rifles etc and had a gun buyback. There has been more gun crime since this incident, though not likely causation (as we are unable to purchase guns for self defense explicitly). All it does is limit people who are already law abiding citizens. Meanwhile, criminals will do criminal things.
Yeah, it really is. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good though. I just started with low hanging fruit and keep plucking higher as time goes on.
Yeah, a couple of times I set aside time to dive into server upgrades or bigger projects. Otherwise it just ticks over doing its thing.
I was freshly unemployed and upskilling myself at a tertiary institute when I first came across bitcoin. It was 2013, and I wanted some drugs, cos a) I had a problem and b) I could sell them to fund my problem. This bitcoin shit was what I needed, the hoops to jump through to get some seemed wild to me. Long story short, my druggy ass at the time couldn't be fucked. I sourced locally rather than silk road, not long after Ross Ulbricht got taken down. I counted myself lucky and didn't think about bitcoin again until 2020/21 during covid.
Finally I looked into bitcoin, I found a dearth of information, didn't know what was good info and what was not. I bought Bitcoin, I bought Ethereum, I bought Solana, hell I even bought XRP (diversification baby).
What I didn't know was I was listening and reading articles from shitcoiners, shit seemed good, things were pumping, I made fiat gains. I didn't get the bitcoin ethos though. I just knew that it was the "big boy" and the others would probably run faster. Because I didn't appreciate the ethos, I piled most of the BTC into Celsius, 5% seemed great, and it's gonna keep appreciating. Sweet. Well we all know how that ended. I needed to decide if I wanted to jump back in, so actual STUDY began, luckily I was able to deploy more at the bear market lows.
I say all that to say, not many people have a smooth intro to BTC or heaven forbid crypto. Some of us got punched in the face multiple times before actually learning the ethos, before actually gaining the conviction and steering clear of the flashing lights at the shitcoin casino. I think for many this is a process, and it's not that people don't listen when you say bitcoin not shitcoins, they just can't discern good info from bad in the early stages, there's so much noise. I know "bitcoin maxis" just seemed arrogant to me at the time. I try to keep that in the back of my mind when engaging with the crypto folk now.
I'm not sure who this message is for to be honest, I just started writing and here we are.
PS I'm actually pretty glad I didn't buy some of the most expensive drugs ever in 2013.π€£
Yeah, roger. Got most of that covered in fact.
Ditto. I feel like I sound really extremist to them, it makes me self censor. I dont like it.
Jesus Christ, this better not be the flood! π€£
I'm more worried about if we're taken offline, but yeah, the accuracy of certain content is concerning at times.
I just downloaded all of Wikipedia onto my unraid NAS. Kiwix-serve docker container makes this easy. Moving onto wiki-how etc next. Hope I don't need this, but better to have and not need, than need and not have.
What other suggestions done have? Any other unraid/TrueNAS users around? The server is primarily personal media backup, but figured I may as well utilise it for other stuff.
Its been popping up everywhere in the last few days!
