Yom Kippur war. Soviet-Afghan war. PLA. IEDs against US military in all the Middle East conflicts. IRA. There is no qualitative shift. Perhaps a quantitative one, but even that is dubious. This is just the nature of asymmetric war and the development of technology during conflict.

I've just recently read how in Yom Kippur war Egyptians breached Israel's "impenetrable" line of fortifications on the banks of Suez channel, whose main part were 20 m high earth barriers to prevent landing. However, as they happened to be made of sand and sandy soil, Egyptians used high-power water cannons to simply flush down the sand and in ~2 hours opened huge holes through which they entered.

#Navalny was placed in "special regime" incarceration for another 19 years, in addition to the 11 years he is serving right now. As some people pointed out, that "special regime" is the highest punishment available in Russian criminal code in absence of the capital punishment, for which Russia declared a moratorium in 1990's.
Just to be clear, this means 10 years with no right to communicate or meet with relatives, single or double cell but with no right to talk to other prisoners, 24/7 light in cell and other rather extreme repressions. That's what is written in the penal code, but Russian prison authorities can add their extras on top of that.
I may like or not like Navalny, but that demonstration of total control over someone's life in demonstrative ignorance of the law is a new quality even for #Russia. That doesn't mean Navalny will spend time in prison until 2050 — he may be killed at any moment, or may be freed in an amnesty, or whatever. One of the top Russian opposition politicians was demonstratively placed in a freezer with the sole intent of demonstrating that Putin can literally control anyone's life in its entirety however he likes.
P.S. as opposed to international media I intentionally avoid verbs like "sentenced", as the decision had nothing to do with courts, laws and sentencing in the usual sense. Even his first "court" was a ridiculous show of arrogance where "judge" e.g. charged Navalny for not reporting to probation officer while he was unconscious in hospital. What happened on the second court case we don't know, as it was classified.
Mastery in UAV grenade dropper chasing — and hitting — #Russia T-90M tank, including on the move (!). Number of drops suggests it could be the famous "Witch" heavy drone.

Unfortunately it implies a tendency towards stalemate, unless Russia experiences a political collapse.

Note among previous targets there were Chongar bridge, Crimea bridge, Dzhankoi railway hub. Ukraine seems to be consistently executing a plan, in this case severing Russian logistics for the southern group. The ships were a logical replacement for these bridges and now they aren't :)

Last night #Russia channels reported "explosions near Crimea bridge". By morning it became evident that this time #Ukraine naval drones hit an empty Russian tanker "Sig" anchored in Kerch strait. The tanker was previously used to supply fuel to Russian army group in Syria. Russian sources published photos from inside the tanker with damaged and flooded engine room, while Ukrainian sources published radio intercepts between Kerch sea control and the tanker crew who confirmed they are immobilized. Along with the previously damaged Russian landing ship, this not only creates a serious threat to Russian group logistics in the south but also to Russian navy which relocated from Simferopol to Novorossiysk specifically for safety reasons. If you donated to Ukraine naval drones crowdfunding run by U24 last year, you can rest assured your money is being spent effectively 👍

nostr:npub1g2wrf72dhu2cup3c4cjcfj5m4vpcf7saz96te50mgksgemtnkqmsm8z3j2
I'm pretty sure he's on a medium priority targets list. People like him don't survive long. At the same time he seems to be practicing Kadyrovite art of survival: talk a lot and stay far from the front line 🤫
#Ukraine major Oleksiy Grebenschikov, who, with captain Igor Kharchenko, flew the first helicopter raid into encircled #Mariupol in spring 2022. I think there were six more, but the first of these "one way" flights was certainly a breakthrough that demonstrated Mariupol can be supplied even in full encirclement, delayed #Russia offensive in Donbas and likely thwarted offensives on Mikolaiv and Odessa.

Aleksey Milchakov in his unique style commented on the news that the daughter of fallen #Ukraine soldier Yaroslav Zhuravl joined Armed Forces of Ukraine herself:
> That's why it's necessary to kill all enemies regardless of age and sex. Children grow up and want to take revenge for their parents.
Milchakov is a #Russian soldier, openly declared Nazi taking part in the "denazification" operation from the beginning. He's a commander of "Rusich" unit, known for extrajudicial killings of POWs and torture.

The myth is just like any other social factor, say stress or peer pressure. It may stimulate some people to action, others it may turn into depression, depending on individual thresholds.
The true disaster happens when your self-confidence is built exclusively on the myth.
This is when Farage believes in a myth where he stands for democracy “against a fascist Europe”, and where Russians believe in a myth where they stand “against fascist Ukraine”.
Or, even worse for them, when Russians believe they can’t lose the war “because Russians lost no wars in the past”.
I think Girkin (or Kurshin) once pointed out in horror “but wait, if we can’t lose by default, then why should we even try to win with our hands?” which perfectly reflected the state of Russian army driven by the mythology.

https://agora.echelon.pl/notice/AYHgdLJsvkhZSbmpuK
A zaraz napiszę jeszcze o społeczeństwie ukraińskim, bo akurat trafiłem na bardzo ciekawy komentarz jednego ukraińskiego polityka, który wywołał właśnie w Ukrainie falę żywiołowych komentarzy :)
