I loved this stuff!! Great great job!
My Nostr predictions for 2025
Exactly one year ago I published my Nostr predictions for 2024. Some came true, but most were, shall we say, aspirational, and, if we want to be generous, directionally correct. Happy to continue in the same vein and go out on a limb for 2025. Here we go, ordered by likelihood of coming true:
1. Primal will become much, MUCH better. Primal 3.0 will be a bigger leap forward than Primal 2.0 was. We will surprise everyone by the features, speed, level of polish, and ease of use.
2. Many other Nostr clients will impress by their progress in a relatively short time frame. If I had to pick one, I have a really good feeling about Highlighter.
3. Way more bitcoiners will join Nostr. While we currently only have a small subset of bitcoin enjoyers on Nostr, the new features and unique content will make Nostr irresistible to anyone interested in bitcoin.
4. Bitcoin-adjacent communities will start to discover and join Nostr. This will include health & wellness, financial twitter, human rights, libertarians, and other communities. As a result, the network will grow and become more formidable.
5. Spammers gonna spam. With the growth of the network, spammers will return in force. They will be sophisticated and relentless, putting all of our spam mitigation services to the test.
6. The Blossom protocol will make media hosting on Nostr much more robust and resistant to censorship.
7. Long form content will start to hit its stride on Nostr. This includes textual long form content (blogs, essays, articles, etc.) as well as long form video content.
8. Multiple Nostr projects will find effective and ethical ways to monetize, marking a watershed moment for the protocol. We will witness the formation of the first cohort of real businesses on Nostr, signaling the inevitable changing of the guard and the eventual extinction of the Legacy Web.
9. Nostr will experience a glimpse of what a ‘suddenly’ mainstream adoption moment looks like.
10. By the end of the year, everyone - even the haters - will realize that Nostr is going to win.
11. nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx will accuse me of not being bullish enough.
One thing is certain: we will keep pushing until we will this thing into existence. 🤝
Anyhow, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Pura Vida, and Peace and Love to you all! ♥️☀️
Long live Nostr and awesome work!
Sure, there will still war financing in Bitcoin. But there will be so many more productive alternatives that fighting in a war would be an incredibly bad idea and would result in losing money in the end.
So for example with Israel and Palestine. What would happen is that there would be plenty of places in the world that would accept the people that are under threat of war. That would make it harder to fight wars, if there's less people willing to fight them.
It's just my perspective.
I definitely think money can "buy" peace. I mean that's the whole essence of free market. Instead of using war, we use money to trade and "buy" peace.
I definitely think Bitcoin will end wars in due time.
Unconfiscatable, uncensorable, limited money.
This will change everything in due time.
Does Nostr already have a NIP for defining companies, locations, like in OpenStreetMap?

Is she a friend of liberty? Are the AfD friends of real liberty?
I can't help but feel completely disconnected to all these politicians. I'm really not sure if there's hope to Europe.
I'm not a fan of the European mindset and am finding it hard to forget and forgive all the Covid bullshit.
Europeans would gladly become Nazi all over again if they had the chance.
My dream is to work with Bitcoiners, libertarians, voluntaryists, objectivists and people like this.
People that are aware of liberty and live for it.
Most people live their lives without values. We need to awake the world.

Bitcoin and get out of Europe.
Is it just me or it is a bit hard to swallow that we've been slaves for a long time once you really figure it out?
Apart from our American friends, the rest of the world is pretty dark once you really think about it.

How do we meet more Bitcoiners globally and locally interested in creating circular economies (local and globally)?

It's no wonder people on the left are pissed at income inequality, the people that sit close to the printer are like a kind of monarchy...

On Bitcoin scalability & transaction fees. Some quick calculations.
Let's imagine in 2030 there's 2 billion Bitcoin users (from the current 500 million) creating a savings transaction, from exchange to cold wallet, once a month and Bitcoin is worth 500k EUR.
This is 9.72 million transactions monthly which is ≈206times over capacity, which is 324,000transactions/day.
This means:
For a 10 sat/vByte:
Average fee per Transaction: ~€11.25.
Confirmation Time:
2–7 days under low congestion.
2–4 weeks under sustained high congestion
So let's say a 1 week and half average (12 days) for a transaction and an average €11 cost.
Certainly not ideal but still very useful for many many people and for the best currency in the world, and also considering this is a savings transaction (from exchange to cold wallet, i.e monthly salary to cold wallet).
And then of course, there will be a bunch of alternatives, like Lightning, etc, etc. And also eventually it's technically trivial to upgrade the block size to 4MB, and reduce these fees and times by 4.

I just find it insane that someone would look at this chart and think everything is alright.
Do you know what I mean?
This is the kind of chart that is shown to explain what exponential growth is, in stuff that usually behaves exponentially like you know explosions, crashes, etc, etc.
People don't care and they'll suffer the consequences of not caring.
