Put most simply, our most prevalent modern diseases (diabetes, obesity, heart disease , stroke, chronic kidney disease, cancer , depression, autoimmune diseases, asthma , developmental disorders etc) often stem from a deviation of what is innately natural to us :

*Being indoors all day under artificial light/screens instead of being outside , seeing the sunrise, in natural light and connected to the earth

* Artificial food /sugars/oils instead of real, nutrient dense foods found in nature

*Artificial/disrupted sleeping patterns instead of natural circadian rhythms.

* Sedentary indoor lifestyle instead of moving around in nature

* Inhaling pollutants/toxins, instead of breathing clean air.

* Artificial, shallow relationships instead of real, meaningful bonds.

* Synthetic / artificial , symptom based pharmaceutical remedies, instead of facilitating our bodies ability to heal naturally.

* Artificial/synthetic immunomodulation instead of harnessing our remarkable natural immunity.

*Artificial / digital short-term stimulation instead of meditation/mindfulness/deep thought.

* Over-medicalised birthing interventions instead of natural , physiological birth.

If you have found that your health has been affected by modern disease, it is likely you have deviated from what is innately natural to our bodies optimal functioning. To address this, you could simply start by realigning your daily activities with that which is most natural to us.

My current health plan is:

-Eat real nutrient dense foods.

-Intermittent fast for 12–16 hours per day. Vibes based. And sometimes go multi-day.

-Go for long walks or bike rides in the sun daily. Touch grass and do stuff. Often you can combine this with business meetings.

-Sprint a couple times per week.

-Do cold plunges a couple times per week. Seriously, this seems easy to skip and it’s hard. But if you want to triple dopamine levels for the working day without later downsides, putting yourself in freezing water is the thing.

-Do some squats and pushups. And then deadlift your own body weight for several reps.

-Even then you’ll potentially fail. This isn’t one of those meme posts. I used to be utterly ripped in my competitive martial arts days in my late teens until my mid twenties. But then I got distracted, mainly due to a broken leg and lack of direction. Over the past several Covid years, I’ve weakened, and had trouble hiking mountains. I still have visible abs but they feel fake now. But I focus on a couple things amid my crazy work, which I have ingrained now. The first is intermittent fasting. It literally fixes all my other errors as a baseline. I can fuck up for a year and not gain weight because I only eat in 6 or 8 hour windows. Or even 10 hours. The rest of the time trains the body to burn fat. Next is I do a reasonable baseline of pushups, squats, and sprints per week. Nobody can make me choose to. It’s just my baseline. Last is I do a lot of squats and bicycling to keep my leg muscles interested, which have been mediocre. So if a new martial arts leader has a plan, I’m happy to listen.

Exactly, simple daily health small wins : eat real food, avoid seed oils, build lean body mass/resistance train, get out in nature, abundance mindset, build meaningful relationships, move your body, intermittent fast and your reward will be in your physical and mental health for many years !

Health is the same - on a daily basis : eat real food, avoid seed oils, build lean body mass/resistance train, get out in nature, abundance mindset, build meaningful relationships, move your body, intermittent fast and your reward will be in your physical and mental health for many years !

Great stuff from RFK, there are important parallel ideas in human health:

Nature on Nostr and the only bluesky that matters

High carbohydrate intake is associated with higher mortality risk,

In 18 countries on 5 continents.

Most likely related to chronic high carbohydrate intake being a major disruptor of our bodies ability to metabolise energy, leading to insulin resistance

This quote I first saw from your book still resonates in my mind even after many years:

“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny”

Yes I am! A Doc focusing on sound health, on managing diseases at their root cause, focusing on preventing chronic disease instead of perpetuating the cycle with symptom control only!

Cardio excercise (running/jogging) is good for cardiovascular health as it improves the efficiency of our hearts pumping mechanism, but resistance training (eg lifting weights or even simple body weight exercises) is just as , if not more important for our metabolic health (even if you’re not a gym bro!). Dysfunctional energy metabolism is at the root cause of many of our modern day chronic diseases and it usually manifests as insulin resistance (ie our bodies ability to metabolise sugar is impaired). Progressive resistance training with adequate dietary protein intake, stimulates lean muscle mass growth, which not only has functional /mobility/aesthetic and other health benefits; but it also increases our bodies capacity to metabolise and balance our energy system. Imagine our lean muscle mass to be like a Bitcoin miners ability to absorb excess energy ( ie flaring otherwise wasted energy to mine Bitcoin vs utilising any excess calories to fuel our muscles). Just like increased Bitcoin miners in a grid can act as a reservoir of energy demand to help balance and make our energy grids more robust , increasing lean body mass will act as a reservoir of energy demand in our bodies and make our metabolic system more robust - Even when we are at rest! (ie our resting metabolic rate increases). And just like the more Bitcoin miners , the more mining wealth! The more lean muscle mass, the more metabolic health!

Anyone on nostr interested in a general health assessment and feedback from a bitcoiner doctor, with payment in sats?

Would possibly involve sending recent bloods and basic health parameters.

Idea would be to optimise nostr users overall health with sound, proof of work/evidence based health information directly peer to peer ?
