Whether you realize it or not, you are in the midst of a spiritual war. You are ALWAYS in the midst of a spiritual war. The battle between Good and Evil is everlasting and there are times when one side overpowers the other. It is pretty clear that we currently find ourselves in a time when Evil is pervasive and objectively overpowering. It is impossible to ignore. If you are aware and observant you can see it in every aspect of our lives.

A mainstream pop culture that promotes promiscuity, fast dating and clout chasing.

A financial system that favors those closest to the monetary spigots.

Indiscriminate crime, a growing sense of hopelessness and increasing inhumanity.

The last of which has been on a disgusting display over the last six days in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The reaction from thousands of individuals who displayed outright revelry at the political murder of a 31 year old father of two has been nauseating. It has literally made me sick to my stomach. We've been reminded that evil very much exists, and even worse, it is much more prevalent than we would like to believe.

I don't want to spend this newsletter dwelling on the evil. Evil feeds off attention and the fear that it incites. Don't the feed the Beast. Instead, focus on the good in the world and lean into it as hard as you possibly can. There has been a lot of warranted focus on the displays of pure evil that we have witnessed since last Wednesday, but I urge you to direct your attention and focus on the Good that has been on display.

Millions of people enraged and shocked by the assassination harnessing that energy and directing it toward making a commitment to go to church, get politically involved and vehemently denounce those reveling of the evil. The absence of kinetic retaliation, which could have easily led to a cascading negative feedback loop of violence. A collective resolve that is undeniably palpable to those who are paying attention.

Evil may seem all encompassing at the moment, but the assassination of Charlie Kirk has lit the flame of Good in a way that I have not witnessed in my first 34 years of life. Many have awoken to the fact that they find themselves in this never ending battle and they feel compelled to get involved and fight for the Good in this world. This is a beautiful thing. It is absolutely heartbreaking that it took this event to get to this point, but it should be recognized for what it is - a beautiful thing.

For evil to win those who fight for the good in the world need to get complacent. I think it's safe to say that the good people in the world became far too complacent for far too long. That seems to be changing right now. People from all walks of life have been driven, I believe by the Holy Spirit, to vocally express their desire to fight on behalf of the good in this world over the last week. It's about time because the evilness that consumes the world has a stronghold right now.

The battle is in no way over. It never ends. The evil will lash out and fight back with an aggressiveness that will be outright shocking, but don't let it deter you. Good always wins in the end.
