Existing Umbrella devices will not get update anymore.
The Umbrella App Store will become unavailable
#Debian is know to be stable but it come with old softwares package
#Ubuntu is based on the code of #Debian, so the two are very similar, but #Ubuntu use more updated packages sometime and offer better drivers supports
There are other differences, but for your purpose, i would suggest #Ubuntu
Assuming the majority of miners are compromised, they still must burn energy to operate. If they will start to censure transactions, those ones will start to grown in fee. Miners cannot simply start ignore big fee because, as they pay their bills. Even if they manage to do it, someone else will try to mine those transactions (as before, for high fee)
If you run your own relay, you can use it for be sure that all your notes are never lost. There are other advantages but, at its minimun, it can be used as backup
on-chain non-kyc #Bitcoin : https://bisq.network/
lightning non-kyc #Bitcoin : https://learn.robosats.com/
Some relays might target a specific nationality or language, and thats help for those who want contents from their language or state
This is an example of why someone might want manage their nodes list
The relay know what are you searching.
Also, not using Tor, the relay can see your IP address and associate your identity with other ones
From my experience, many people don't know about the #LightingNetwork and the user experience offered by apps is becoming accessible in the recents months.
In Europe, the app #PocketBitcoin should be available for purchase #Bitcoin with a low KYC procedure.
For pay people, you can use the #Zeus wallet, both on-chain and lightning wallet, who can also handle #Nostr contact.
This is a complete solution, but if you prefer a more simple experience, #PhoenixWallet is a must choice
I mean, are you looking for an app for, mostly, buy #Bitcoin, pay peoples or merchants, or other things?
For what purpose?
Comfort and nice views
For a lung run, an hardware wallet is suggested. Also, you are not bound a specific software wallet when using an hardware wallet (the software must still be compatible)
#ColdCard and #SeedSigner are DYI hardwallet, and #BitBox02 is a good commercial wallet if you prefer a more ready-to-go wallet
The choise of the software wallets will be based by the hardwallet choice.
#Sparrow is a good desktop wallet, as #BlueWallet for Android
None. Any "trade operations" with those cryptotokens is just overcomplicated gambling and stealing other people values. It is now boring.
Most the people around #Bitcoin are literraly working for a better world, so it deserve all our support, and criticism where needed. No more attentions must be spared with useless "alternative"
you technically can. However, every year will increare the threat of bugs and malware that might steal/expose your private key. Are you sure this wallet is designed to outstand the test of time?
Also, will be your device still operational in 15 years? Will be the substitute device compatiple with Blue Wallet?
The right question, how much you are confidend and risk adverse
Perfect security doesn't exists, and the target for good-enough security always change
Good point. In this case i will let the speak to someone more informed by me for this topic
Some wallet can become Point of Sales, so a normal phone/tablet can be used for accept #Bitcoin
#Zeus
#Breeze
#WalletOfSatoshi
Maybe a good thing. But hey, you might generate a new wallet and gues someone else private key (also know as "surprise backup" ) or someone might send a transaction to an address of yours for errors (maybe a little mistake of hundred of bitcoin).
Funny little accidents
