Absolute nobody; Procurer of obscurities. Homesteader. Professional papa. I like doing cool stuff. “Very useful engine.”

Bro. Say it louder for the boys in the back!

I don’t even understand half the stuff being said.

The child woke from his nap and caught me eating biltong we got on sale at NG.

Welp- guess I’m not getting any later.

I can’t help but be grumpy and green with envy.

The likelihood of my being able to get on elk let alone connect with one is extremely slim.

Oh well, glad to see a good harvest!

And just like that, no more of the worst “holiday” of the year. Thank goodness!

Now we can get on with what the fall is really about, HUNTING SEASON!

Ever tried yaupon tea? I made some last year and it was dandy. Couldn’t notice the caffeine due to being a fairly caffeinated individual, but it tasted pretty dang good after toasting the leaves.

Turkey Tail season, y’all!

God’s natural medicine, WOOOOOO!

Found this lion’s mane in the forest around broken bow lake over the weekend.

First time finding a Hericium in the wild!

Don’t eat until soft or your mouth will be mad at you for about an hour or so. Lolol

But a definitive way to know it’s a native persimmon would be to just touch the tip of your tongue to some unripe flesh… it’ll be super astringent and make the area of your tongue feel really dry.

Is that not a persimmon? Hard to tell when I zoom in but it sure looks a North American persimmon.

I can’t wait for my honey hole to flush! It’s been so dry this year we haven’t any good Turkey tail at all.

The rains have picked up so I’ll be checking this weekend when I get a moment hopefully.

Scrolling back by here my son sees the picture and goes “waaao munshroooms! They so pretty!”

Looks to be an Amanita family. Identifying from pictures is unreliable though. You could try your hand at identifying the spores under a microscope if you have one.
