Sorry, I thought we were doing the blanket statement thing. “Can’t trust the rich.” Of course there are exceptions to every thing. I was just expressing a sentiment. They have to come out and mingle and do the song and dance charade for a bunch of nobodies.
Doing posterior chain/anterior chain split? nice!
It is what I am doing. I am in the fortunate position that all the plants are healthy, Productive and tasty. In addition I would not say it was a particularly favorable year for melons here. It is kinda what I’ve been working towards for 4 years. And it’s hard to believe the selection is largely based on taste and size. But I do save seeds from every plant just in case I want to go back to it.
I’ve always hated snitches. Fucking hall monitors. Yuck!
I go back in forth now with methods, but I think I slightly prefer sowing them in rows in flats. About 4 or 5 rows and several seeds per inch. Then when ready I just scoop out in chunks and stick in the ground. Onions are pretty resilient. Sometimes I just drop the small starts I do not want to plant on the ground, come back a week later and they have rooted and are growing.
This episode takes me back to childhood. Finding random water holes out in the woods. Gonna have to go explore this weekend.

When I was a kid it was fun catching bullheads in those water holes.
Saturday there might be snow in the cascades and some places east of the cascades first frost (low lands) crazy
The medium ones for some reason are just a tad bit sweeter. I think that is where the genetics wants to go because I am getting about 75 percent medium. And the plants that produce those seem healthier and more prolific. About half are cantaloupe orange and 1/2 are green like a honey dew.
It was. Especially garlic for me. I like to grow my onions in clusters of 3. That way they stay medium size but I get an overall larger total yield.
