As an amethyst user, my experience has gotten better over time so it's hard to relate to what you're describing. Relays have sane defaults and easy to understand explanations for each category.

Right. I think the OP was about having an invalid nip 05 which is what the impersonator spam accounts have to confuse people. Not having a nip 05 isn't the same as having an invalid one. Maybe I'm wrong

Aren't there default recommended relays now? I thought his issue would be finding people to follow to populate the feed.
What client are you using? Relays? The spam disappeared days ago when I removed the Damus & Primal relays

IMO that critique comes from his frequently bearish tone and not just the problems he is pointing out. Someone calling out an issue with a vibe of futility and hopelessness is totally different than rallying the troops to make progress toward a common goal. It's not it's his job to be cheerleader though and he is much appreciated just the way he is.

Primal has never been usable for me, even before the spamming. Try another client
Dunno man, I'm not highly technical and there were no issues for me to get going even back in the end of '22 / beginning of '23 time frame. Some highly technical people struggle to tie their shoes.
This is only the third time in recent history that the Fed has started rate cuts with a 50 bps cut. The previous two times, the economy crashed.
I'm leaning towards a dip at best and acknowledging a recession at worst.
I don't know about you - but I always plan for maximum pain and hope for the best. So even with all the rate cut hype, it's wise to brace for the worst - at least short-term.
It will all come down to the jobs reports, but it may not be what you expect.

For me it was an even split with the Damus & Primal relays
In the complete UI mode there is an icon below the user's profile photo in the note. That shows the relays you got saw the note on. You can also click on the profile of the user and scroll all the way to the right and see your shared relays and number of notes downloaded.

Trying out Citrine and having some trouble... it won't save any setting that I change from the default. Once I hit apply it crashes and after launching again it has all the defaults loaded.
What am I doing wrong? Same behavior on 4.4 & 4.3
