I moved states with my ex-wife and thought I'd be settled there for a while. She ended up cheating so I moved back home and after lugging around 600+ vinyl records and other stuff up and then back only 9 months later, I opted to minimalize my life. Agreed. I think part of the barrier to entry for some folks is the lack of ease of use/convenience that the bigger social media services have. Is it worth all the shady shit? Absolutely not, but some folks are willing to give up a lot just for that.

Yeah that seems to be the case, I'll have to do my part and contribute. I have another account on which I share content I create regarding my favorite game series but I find it hard to draw a line between that account and this one. Part of me wants to hold onto my anonymity given how well Bitcoin and privacy/security work together but another part of me wants to really let nostr be a place on which I can do me and express who I am fully. It's an interesting dichotomy, one that perhaps will always cause me to feel like there's a barrier to entry in nostr unless I let go of that feeling.
