The most joyful people I've met are always nuns. Don't criticize them until you understand why

Basically, don't criticize people for their decisions on whether or not to have kids, or for how many kids they have, or how they parent their kids, or...
Being a parent is a beautiful, holy, and incredibly difficult calling, we should give parents our support however we can
Seeing some spicy discourse on #catholic family planning today. At least it's a change from Bitcoin and memes, I suppose
As an Obsidian user, tell me more...
What does it taste like?
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, in the context of that verse, is typically understood as rejection of God's forgiveness. Obviously one who rejects forgiveness can't experience God's mercy, which we need for salvation. Anyone who repents and seeks forgiveness can receive mercy, regardless of past sin.
Good points made there. On the other hand, though, I'd contend that character limits can cause conversations to lose nuance. Being able to spin off discussions on different entries in a thread has value, I can see, but I wonder what limiting ourselves only to bite-sized discussion points does to our mind.
There's a place for Twitter, and a place for other platforms as well.
That might be the way to go. Habla.news is a relay just like any other, so any client can read from it and render the content however it fits best within the framework of the app.
Isn't wanting to re-create Twitter threads a self-limiting idea? Threads are a workaround for the short-form nature of Twitter. On Nostr, if you have more to say, there are long-form note kinds that support that.
From my tiny network, I can see nostr:npub1wqfzz2p880wq0tumuae9lfwyhs8uz35xd0kr34zrvrwyh3kvrzuskcqsyn , @iefan , nostr:npub17xu3rtcu0ftqw03mswa8a2ngz3nsgrs0h0wjv4z942qwvhp8fs3qzcadls , nostr:npub12262qa4uhw7u8gdwlgmntqtv7aye8vdcmvszkqwgs0zchel6mz7s6cgrkj To be a starting point.
Follow them and see who they interact with and you might connect to the right people.

I suspect someone new to Nostr with skill or talent to share could come with an empty Lightning wallet and earn Bitcoin over time just by being active and sharing on here. Nostr is the perfect marketplace to get paid in sats for your thoughts or skills.
Division of labor.
I manage the budget in our household, and I'll tell my wife when anything changes.
She does almost all of the grocery shopping and cooking, so if I want to make anything I check with her first to make sure I won't use anything she needs for her meal plan.
It's a good arrangement.
It's something like 100 pages. Not a long read by any means. It took me 2 or 3 days I think
There are a couple stats on nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg web version so they know how to do it, not just the full package
I like this idea. I made a note for myself so I can follow up on it when I get the chance.
Or someone else may get to it first, it seems there's a lot of discussion going on about how to create a good onboarding experience.
Great addition.
Every so often I'll see alarmist graphs that show temperature variation over time, back into the ice age or what have you. Of course, the punchline to those graphs is that there is a sharp upwards curve starting right in the 20th century. That always seems disingenuous to me, because there's no way our temperature data from the ice age is anywhere near as granular as our temperature data today, so putting them on the same graph produces nonsense.
I don't think anyone is denying there is warming observed on a broad scale, at least in some form. There are just too many confounding factors to talk about a "scientific consensus" on what might be the cause of observed change.
Have you read Hilaire Belloc's "Essay on the Restoration of Property"? It discusses this exact idea
That's an interesting thought. As far as I understand, things like followers and engagement are a bit harder to track on Nostr vs other platforms because it's decentralized.
So, to get the data, you'd have to crawl relays and look for profiles that have your npub in their follow list. A first pass at the concept would probably be approximate, but maybe good enough to help people make the jump. I'm sure it'll get easier over time as Nostr devs continue to add DVMs to the ecosystem.
