El presidente de El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, a través del Ministerio de Economía, presentó ante la Asamblea Legislativa un proyecto con el que busca reformar la Ley de Emisión de Activos Digitales promulgada el año pasado y que también modificaciones en la aplicación de la Ley Bitcoin.
⚖️ La Comisión Nacional de Activos Digitales sería la entidad encargada de aplicar la nueva Ley Bitcoin. Hay un anexo con nuevas obligaciones que deberán cumplir los exchanges que, entre otras cosas, tendrán que estar registrados e implementar medidas de antilavado de dinero.
📄 El proyecto establece normativas preventivas para reducir los riesgos en el mercado e incrementa sanciones a quienes operen sin autorización. De hecho, aplica el congelamiento de fondos y el secuestro de bienes, en caso de que se detecten irregularidades.
👀 El nuevo proyecto de Bukele llega pocos días después de que el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) destacara avances en las conversaciones con el Gobierno de El Salvador.
