Hard disagree. Your only alternatives are:
- A centralized service locator, that stops being feasible as soon as you have multiple context layers (like in games: root context, scene context, game mode context, world object context, individual contexts for different UI sections),
- Classes constructing their own dependencies, making them non-testable and creating long chains of constructor argument passing.
I believe that education plays a great role, but mostly for a relatively small number of people that need convincing - entrepreneurs, decision-makers of different kinds and so on. The general public just needs high quality payment services and don't even have to know that they are using Bitcoin. And for sure most of them won't (and should not) care about what's happening under the hood. Of course, we still need to spread the word to the masses, but I guess that memes would be more effective that "real" education in this regard.
Yeah, but it opens up the possibly of reputable third parties hosting it for others. It is MIT-licensed.
Can't you just self-host the model if you have the infrastructure?

I want to have an instance just for the fam, accessible from the local network only :)
I know my way around Docker and stuff, so I should be able to figure this out, but maybe you have something pre-packaged.
What do you want to see from nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 in 2025?
Would a built-in tailscale client make sense? Now I have to turn it on by hand. It's a minor inconvenience, but still.

I'm scared of Chinese spies grabbing my nsec from the clipboard :)
Thanks, I missed that one!

I'm trying to figure out how to use it with Honeypot and it does not support Amber directly.
I've been doing some experiments with my wife over the last couple of years. We tried 1 day per week, 2 days per week, extended fasting of various sorts (up to 10 days). We both found that there is a significant shift in mood and mental clarity on day 4 (3 if you're lucky), when you enter really deep ketosis (might also be related to increased autophagy), so now we settled for 5 day fasts every fourth week and it works like a charm. I guess you should start slowly, but don't be afraid of experimenting with longer fasts as you get more comfortable, just keep in mind to give your body enough time to regenerate.
I am pleased to announce the release of the 0.1.0 release of Flotilla, a new client for communities.
This is NOT a NIP 29 client. More details to come on why, but for now, give it a try at flotilla.social.
If you're not sure which group to start with, try one of these:
https://flotilla.social/spaces/wss%3A%2F%2Frelay.nostrtalk.org%2F
https://flotilla.social/spaces/wss%3A%2F%2Fbucket.coracle.social%2F
Is it always one relay per community or are multi-relay communities possible?
Very cool episode, thank you!
I'm playing with Reticulum which has a bit more mature architecture, you guys are would love it. It runs on the same devices, but also IP / I2P, wifi halow (the new wifi standard that's up to one km range). It is a networking stack though, it can do ssh, messaging over the radio through the city, I even ported ecash cashu over it so you can send sats. It is done mostly by this one cool guy Mark who lives in an RV and puts all his soul and time to this. And it is actually meshing, if there's a route, it finds it. Neighbors can do wifi, you go further over lora. Very cool. And it's encrypted by default.
The messaging apps can work over wifi, so if you have a node at your home (or an RV), when your phone connects to the wifi, it automatically connects to the mesh. If you send a message, the node forwards it through lora or whatever

Is this Mark fellow on nostr? If not, why the hell not? 😄
Could you help me test this? I'd like to learn two things:
1. Is the content unlocking after payment?
2. How was your payment experience? Was it smooth?
12 sats a test!

Smooth AF! Can't wait for the release.
This is super cool. I'd recommend adding hashtags to your notes to make them more visible.

Hey nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq32amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv3sk6atn9e5k7tcpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctv9uqzqgjs76tffs4y8y57wljaurm2vxh9udapaekk5waw79cxakvszfytmdec76 is it possible to somehow switch my existing (email) account to nostr? In theory, I could just log in with nostr and abandon the old account, but I'd lose my history and would need to withdraw all the funds.
