This is a very liberal use of the word “investors”.

Storegga might have killed 95% of all humans on Earth at the time.

Agriculture was invented in the Levant some 5,000 years before Storegga tsunami, but Dogger was a huge fertile delta system.

It would have been by far the highest yielding land at the time considering rest of Europe was still pre- the massive deforestation of middle ages.

If you look at geography of the globe, Neolithic society would have settled in Doggerland farms with large trading centres at the various river mouths.

All lost to the waves.

The giant flood mentioned in the Old Testament and stories handed down via many other culture, was most likely the Storegga tsunami that permanently submerged 100,000+ square miles of Northern Europe.

Major cities all over the world are sited on river mouths to facilitate trade. The large inland lake of Dogger and the 3 tributaries was likely the trading and economic epicentre of the Neolithic Age.

No records survived.

Privacy is not the reason I am using nostr.

Also, cohorts do not switch social networks. What happens is a new generation refuses to join their parents network and is FORCED to find alternative home.

nostr is competing for the post TikTok wave of teens, not 40+ year olds on Twitter.

I don’t even understand what any of that means and I’m not remotely motivated to find out. 🤷‍♂️

Wow, that’s bleak. Not good seeing homes with still 2x cars on the drive.

Surely someone can get down there with a Starlink dish and a generator and organise search / help? Doesn’t seem like there’s much activity?

I remember being in Sydney in ‘94 and going to bed at night knowing the bush fires were less than a mile away. Knowing there was a chance I might wake up during the night in a fire. Everyone knew it was arsonists, but without proof it was a taboo subject. People would ask why natural fires hadn’t started inland where it was hotter and drier.

This seems like a good genre of AI art.

Show a horrific scene arranged like the face of the guilty party.

True story:

In 1851, the first America’s Cup…

Queen Victoria asked the signal-master to tell her who was in second place. "Ah, Your Majesty, there is no second," came the reply.

Yeah 100% but also the relationships between systems and how they compete and rebalance to new equilibria.

Anyone spoken to people at Deepmind recently, who are working on Gemini?

Combining multimodal LLM with a TreeSearch layer?

I think if you prune the limp parts it might be normal? But this has some head on pike vibes.

To understand what AI means for the future you have to understand ecological models and the forces within.

Math, programming, politics, business, these things and others will not be predictive.

Understood. I think that behaviour pretty much always comes with the faux-anonymity.

I hope is eventually fades out here, and I think it will.

There’s a push for privacy on nostr, but the protocol is extremely open and transparent and ultimately I think nostr ends up being more much open than www.

Eventually being a troll on nostr apps will corrupt the reputation of all your keys across all your apps. Rather like your real life reputation.

I think the internet will bifurcate to an extent between open and dark. People will use either for various use cases. But nostr will very much be open with few if any hiding places for trolling.
