In 2024.

In 2025.

In 2026.

And, possibly, even in 2027.

Said another way, #100k is the new #58k.

Temper your expectations accordingly.

I'm too young to retire. But I could modestly live on what I have. Just don't want to yet.

There's a fine line between hodling and living on a bitcoin standard.

My business was shut down during COVID because the government deemed it "non-essential."

So when I see comments like "get a real job," I can’t agree with that mindset. Every job is "real" if someone is willing to pay for the service or product. We can debate the merits of what qualifies as a "fiat job" all day, but the fact is, many influencer jobs would still exist under a hard money system.

To me, the issue isn’t the existence of influencers or how they make their living. The real problem lies in the government’s ability to shut down someone’s livelihood whenever they decide it’s problematic, for whatever reason.

I can’t help but feel that the push to ban TikTok is just a tactic to force its sale to an American company. If a permanent ban does happen, it could ultimately benefit platforms like Nostr by drawing more attention to decentralized protocols. Unfortunately, it comes at the cost of people's livelihoods being taken away by bureaucrats in suits.

Don't build your digital life on something that can disappear at a moments notice. Become rugpull resistant or perish.

How advanced, or what types of advancement, would it take to convince you to get a cybernetic brain implant in the future?

-Substantially improves a major disability (blindness, paralysis, brain damage, etc)

-Boosts sensory abilities beyond normal (eyesight, hearing, etc).

-Boosts IQ or some other meaningful metric of intelligence and computation, thereby increasing your competitiveness in multiple fields. Becomes basically necessary for some fields due to many others doing it.

-Lets you enter VR with all five senses in a way that feels like 80-90% realistic but can be any environment/context. People make increasingly awe-inspiring virtual experiences/worlds, only accessible this way.

-Substantially increases the bandwidth with which you can interface with computers. Like, lets you download a ton of info quickly.

imagine the advances in genetics, robotics, aerospace etc

The real cost of QE isn't just inflation; it's the brain drain into finance, leaving innovation to rot.
