IMO this shows that base layer privacy is a bad idea. FCMP have been talked about for 2 years now and they are still 2 years away.
This should have been done years ago. Privacy needs to nimble and up-gradable in a moments notice. This is why I am more hopeful with privacy on BCH going forward.

Fyi, I don't think anyone is hating on BCH, But each crypto has it's own ++ & --. Realistically, using multiple, decentralized blockchains that have varying privacy features has benefits for the agorist, libertarian & privacy communities by providing both universal & esoteric options for transactions, as well as more potatoes on the hill.

FCMP is at least 2 years away, by then Bitcoin Cash will have ZN encryption via contracts making transactions 100% private.
Privacy on the base layer is losing battle.
So you know you are fear mongering. Also, we've digressed. CashFusion doesn't have near the scrutiny XMR has, so it's privacy has not been put to the test in nearly the same degree.

Monero has been recently shown to not be as private as believed. It has multiple attack vectors such as the network level reducing the anonymity set down to about 4 from 16.
Despite this it is still totally fine for most people to get good enough privacy. Same goes for CashFusion on BCH.
For 99.9% of people it is more than enough if used properly
To the best of my knowledge your assessment of Monero is 100% incorrect. I'm pretty sure their next upgrade will change anon set from 16 to at least 1000. Look up FCMP.

Can we trust it to not steal our funds? Seemingly so. Can we trust it to avert state surveilance? Possibly, with advanced techniques, but don't bet the farm.
Likening MSTR / Michael Saylor to Bitcoin is the same as likening FTX / SBF to crypto. A scam is a scam, the money is the money.

Bitcoin Cash has the best privacy out of any public chain. Almost as good as Monero.

Cash is "private" on purpose, not innately. While coins are mostly fungible, the reality is every single paper bill has a unique serial number (nft), making them all traceable. The choice has been made, in most uses, to not use existing tech to follow these bills everywhere they go.
Jack Dorsey says the "store of value" proposition for Bitcoin is a failure.
Payments is what Bitcoin is about.
