Could be commercial yes. If it turns out that exists real interest on the service could sell directly one day here in Brazil (lot of work to register a retail though) As a side project now, main thing is to try to deliver real value, listed to the feedback, improve the app, and look for other retail partners interested in selling through the app and accepting Bitcoin, that’s the goal, give people willing to use Bitcoin as a medium of exchange a fair, transparent option. If you know any craft beer store that might be interested to join in your community let me know!

That’s awesome. Indeed the key is to build trust and arrange a scalable setup to have more positive impact in the future.

I am into creating an app so it is possible to buy local craft beer using Bitcoin and Lightning! And want to be 100% open about finances… plan to sell the products for their cost (I partner with local stores) and charging (and advising) an extra for collaborating with the project to pay servers and the whole operation. Maybe you could do something alike. Have a website where donors can see how much cans of food you bought that month, you expenses, donation goals and how much you could cover.

Complementing that with nice pictures of the happyness you are delivering would be great!

So, beers will be delivered by 3rd party #bitcoin friendly retail stores. I am closing a deal with one from Sao Paulo, Brazil (still finishing negotiations about costs).

LightningBeer is projected as a proof-of-concept app for those willing to use bitcoin as money, so they (we!) can buy our local craft beers using satoshis. The financial goal for the project will be to cover its costs once launched, as to be sustainable. So, expect one financial report once a month. I am open to ideas on how to allow support for the project and finance it (extra cost for the service? Sponsored beers or stores? …)

About the tech, the app will be developed using #flutter (packages and services being defined).

I do need some suggestions of where I can host the repo other that github, any ideas?

Network effects are stronger than idealisms. Pulling more network effect, creating better software (not only better that itself but better than the competition, from the UI/UX to features) is the only long term solution for #nostr to broaden out from a specific “tribe”.

So nice, who are they?

I am a new pleb around and was kind of skeptic. Love the self sovereign principles (still have to make my homework about the protocols) but have received more help than ever could have expected at Twitter being just a newcomer. Loving the freedom, hope it goes beyond a “tribal” thing and gets more widely used. Doing my part!

So, as promised, here is the first prototype of the #Lightning #Beer #app. Sorry i could export just one screen (I am creating this after work, so not much time for now). I will create the public repo during the weekend and share here at #nostr only.
