But I was thinking more in this expanding culture of control among earth's govs. I just think there is a false sense of superiority or security at Nostr because of the fact of its permissionless open nature (which is great), but the weight would be on big relay operators, and as i often point, there's no need for total censorship to have a person muted in practice, or to make it become a pariah (abandon an nsec and create a different identity) in order to be able to express something.

Googlebot is not "how crawlers work". You can create a bot today, and listen to relays, aka. "crawl" them, store the data, and have fun with it. Try it, you will enjoy.
Well if you can bare the weight, stay around; for what I've read it looks like an interesting discussion around censorship resistance. Been saying for a while that you do not need to be totally censored to be muted in practice (but haven't got much interaction). Just a block from certain top relays and that's it... you are out or talking to the void.

Nothing prevent AI bots connecting to Nostr. If you can access notes using the internet then it is online, from an app or from a bot script doesn’t matter. AI bots do not necessarily care about indexable content, just accessible content. Nostr is permissionless so all they need to do is connect to a relay and start downloading
