Hey Hey! I started Graphic Social. Graphic is the Happy Place on NOSTR which is the friendly social platform! Happy and friendly, wow! Welcome! I am loving the NOSTR experience. It really amazes me what an incredibly friendly culture has developed on NOSTR. NOSTR CULTURE Does NOSTR have a culture? The main thing that has amazed me about NOSTR is the extremely friendly culture which exists here. People are extremely interested to help newcomers setup their NOSTR experience. I think this amazing culture could be what makes NOSTR thrive! The concept of a place where friendliness and helpfulness is pervasive is really an appealing idea for so many people. Imagine walking into the friendliest bar, restaurant, coffee shop in the world! That is NOSTR! Zapping is also such a friendly concept. I see zapping as a friendly way people say hello on NOSTR. Zapping is fundamentally a positive gesture! if you have trouble finding the best way to use NOSTR, just ask! Is there a feature you want to see? Ask and maybe someone will develop it! Truly believe that nobody understands NOSTR at this point! We'll see emergent behavior which nobody can predict! The "aha" use case for NOSTR will come out of the blue. Also into organic farming, health, fitness, travel and learning languages. I speak these languages poorly Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Sukoshi Japanese and some English

Hi Gary, hmmm, I guess I don't know if Coracle has any hardcoded relays. I know you can add and remove relays, but I don't know if anything is hardcoded in the code. It is web based and might work well. #client #relay

If you can send me your Bitcoin address I will send you half of the cost on Friday and the other half on Aug 1. #relay #grownostr

Hi Cameri, so, I would like to pay for one months cost of your server if we can add NIP-50 to it. I guess I can pitch in for any dev work involved. I don't have deep pockets but I can do one month and maybe more #relay #grownostr

Hi Viktor, so I guess, the first thing is that in order to do anything with search a relay has to be NIP-50 compliant. Are you familiar with NOSTR.band? NOSTR.band has search capabilities and they have a NIP-50 compliant relay. So, if I have a NIP-50 relay I can start testing things I want to do with search. Keyword search is of course an obvious functionality. But there are many other uses for NIP-50. I have a relay which is only NIP-50 with nothing else which is kind of the problem but in reverse. If you know any NIP-50 compliant relay, please let me know. Otherwise I will add NIP-50 to the best relay I can find. #relay #nostr

Ok, no worries. I might add it to Nostream if I get enough time!

If you happen to be on Android and use Amethyst, you won't have any issues. I guess Vitor figured something out! I don't know what web based client has figured it out but somebody will. So many people are moving to Android just because Amethyst is so awesome! ! #grownostr #

Hi Boston, I think that paying attention to the readily available feedback from new users about their experience is very useful. I would like to send out questions to large numbers of new users at some point but that hasn't been necessary up to now. There are several repeat complaints which keep coming up. I think developers really need to try to look at the new user experience with an understanding that after you have been on NOSTR for 6 months you forget some of the hurdles. Ignoring common user complaints is a missed opportunity. I have read quite a few new user messages and many complaints are similar. 1. The number one comment from a new user is "are there only Bitcoin people on here?" Until recently, almost every major client "auto adds 5-10 hard core NOSTR people as your first follows when you join. Those people are also Bitcoin savvy and they are probably coders or are very comfortable with tech. Clients need to reflect on whether this is a good user experience. 2. The second major issue is "how do I find people?" As far as I know Amethyst was the first client to implement NIP-50 search. Amethyst seems to be leading in some aspects of the user experience. 3. Perhaps tied for number 2 is Not suitable content. You don't have to look far to find this complaint. Some people say, well you have to put up with it or do your own work. Actually, if a client sets only one initial relay to NOSTR.band, almost all these issues go away for the new user. Obviously the person in charge of NOSTR.band has made some important decisions in this area. Since he has the dominant relay in the NOSTR ecosystem you might say he made a good choice with his filtering. Why not set one two or three relays for the first time user? People who want to really go geek out and look through one hundred relays are free to do that, but they will not be confused!

Sitting here drinking my coffee! Do you have any questions about using NOSTR? What would make it easier and more intuitive to use? #introductions #goodmorning
