The level of English in Portugal is much higher than neighbouring Spain. Sounds simplistic but it's down to subtitles! In Spain the movie guys have perfected dubbing. In Portugal English movies were subtitled, so you develop an ear. Each film star has their own dubber who stays through their career. It's a weird phenomenon. The end result is Spanish students are insanely well drilled in grammar but hablan inglés como indios.
I'm still like a kid at Christmas when I look around the garden or the olive grove and spot something I planted from seed or have followed since it appeared out of nowhere.
This Queensland bottle tree is one of my proudest attempts from seed. I think I even had to drop the seed in boiling water to kickstart it. It's only 60 CMS tall at the moment but give it 50 years...
That and watching a pollinated squash emerge as a tiny blob and three days later just appears by magic the size of a football.

I was an avid reader until I went to secondary school. Under the bedcovers with a torch kind of fanatical reader. I don't bear grudges but I make an exception with a school system that squeezed my love of books out of me.
So many studies show that kids' creativity diminishes in state systems. What can you make with a paper clip is the classic benchmark.

OK, looks like you are the relay guy in residence haha, whats the answer to this question?
A relay is a server, presumably it is not impregnable. So if the relay were compromised, the hacker can censor, edit, generally mess with the content. I assume that because if a relay owner can delete content, they can surely edit too? Can the relay owner switch off and somehow revert back to the original, or are they just toast?
Follow on from that. I understand relays dont "talk" to each other just to the users sending content their way. So presumably there is no concensus mechanism in Nostr whereby the changed content can be rejected by the network.
How do we know if a relay has been compromised and we aren't seeing censored content. Is it the community watching for changes somehow? Or are we reliant on the relay owner knowing, alerting, doing the right thing?

My experience so far which is zilch, is that I don't seem to connect to so many relays. Not even 20.
Should I make an effort to connect to as many relays as I can find on Nostr watch or is there a happy medium?
Is there a downside to the mutiny option to connect to every single relay or just gravy?

Thanks Big BB! So we should start on Nostr from day one on the assumption that some relays will be abusing their trust (willingly or not) at some point. Time to extend my Proton VPN plan!
Centralised elements in a de-centralised system can't bring down the system but they can sure create big issues for those caught in their immediate sphere of influence.
Relay owners can see all IP addresses, right? Is the anonymity idea compromised if a nefarious actor can simply set up a bunch of relays and start linking IP info to content? Or is that not how it works?

It's more a marketing question really. I have free range chicken eggs, I can get truffles easy enough. What suggestions for combining the two ingredients would grab your attention as a pro chef, and maybe prompt you to give me a call for supplies so you could offer those dishes to your clientele.
The direction of travel away from coca cola is to be applauded but calling it a victory when the replacement is non-alcoholic beers merits praise indeed to the marketing department.
Having weaned myself off of alcoholic beers, you feel self righteous on the 0,O until you read the nutrition labels. They are pop, soda, carb monsters by any other name. The carbs end up as sugar around your waist. 4 bottles a day of 0,0 is not healthy, unless you are measuring its alcohol content v beer.
Obviously if drinking water in Gaza is compromised, just like the old days, bottled beer is a way to go. But the healthiest drink is still and always will be water. Ask every animal on earth! We are the only dumb animals who have psy ops trained drinks industries telling us otherwise.

I am very impressed with how laid back but useful Nostr is. On Twitter I can recall the angst of checking my feed. Checking Nostr is more like checking a regular email account a few times a day. It doesn't feel like a threatening relationship.Nw and again its not good news, but most of th time, I'm not anticipating checking into a string of abusive emails, or spam. They are well filtered these days!
