Working on https://fevela.me, https://nstart.me, https://njump.me, https://oracolo.me and other inspiring nostr projects. I love to build helpful things that people are pleased to use, mixing tech, design, usability and accessibility.

If I'm not wrong Iris and Amethyst devs says that are interested in implementing channels.

No, I prefer your version :) But perhaps with my color, low poly effect and the central white insert.

My first torus "round" proposal is ok for a logo but need more work for the icon version.

Good work but I don't particularly like the matching between Amethyst and the ostrich, the the latter is too general and will be used in many areas about Nostr, so the Amethyst recognizability risks to plumb.

The gem is more classy, imho.

Of course tecnically there is not differences between mining a vanity key and a randomn one. But there is a quite important psicological difference in how we consider a recognizable pattern against a random one; we tend to focus the pattern and give it more importance, and so we are more vulnerable to an impersonation attack.

Yes, NIP-05 is a solution with a good UX.

But so, why create a vanity address if is not showed/used?

Linear threads have nice readibility, have the advantage that users can reply to specific paragraph (insight from #[2] read somewhere) and so create rich and accurate conversations.

But if there are several messages created by hand there is the possibility that someone hijaks it.

Perhaps sell replies as linear?

It is preferred to always use web client with the nos2x/alby extension

Fix it and open a PR :)

Pay attention that vanity pub keys can be a security threat.

Someone can try to impersonate you simply mining the same prefix; users are inclined to check only the first/last parts of a key, a vanity one incentive this behaviour.

IMHO.

macOS TestFlight 👍🙂

Perhaps #[3] will share a dmg version to bypass TestFligh capacity limit?

Asking me?

The browser is opened to this url and load it fine. But the app is stuck with a big Iris logo.

From the *author* of The Bitcoin standard, this is a great and concrete sign about knowledge freedom.

Not supposed, exists and has always existed since the begin along with the ios one :)

Perhaps the domain needs the https:// prefix?

Android 🤝 iOS: Amethyst adds support for Private Messages.

Amethyst 0.5:

- Adds support for Private Messages

- Removes autoplay from videos (have to figure out how to mute first)

- Click on Image to Zoom

- Blocks double likes

And support self messaging to keep notes 🤙

It's really satisfying and refreshing test a new client and find all my messages history, including private ones. Open protocols and open source power.

Great!

Even if direct messages implementation in Nostr at this stage is not ideal because the metadata leak, I think that client should support them because for the end user it is a useful function and KEEP him on Nostr for one-to-one communication too.

Let's think it as a user retention strategy.

The AI is confused about ostrichs and pigeons 😀

Nice nice!

Snort is every day better, great work!

#[2] when post-only switch for the main feed / global? :)

Let's connect to talk about! DM me here or on Telegram (@danieletonon, perhaps now is better for fast ideas sharing).

Btw I would be happy to listen to #[5] opinions here, an open collaborative work is really Nostr-style :)

Not my project, just following them, interesting project and so your questions!

Yes they webrtc, I read about it on Telegram. I don't know other tech details.

Hi Lula, you are right there are analogies. Even if I use Damus I didn't know the logo before today with the new release, when I see it on the top of the app! However the two logos are quite different a recognizable, Damus is flat, the proposed Amethyst is 3D. I dubt you can confuse them, don't you?

I'm quite more worried about Obsidian one: https://obsidian.md I just remembered it and it certainly inspired me without realizing it.
