There are browser extensions that hold your nsec, and sign your events, so you don't have to transmit your nsec to every web client. It is the preferred/secure way of using Nostr web clients.

It depends on what you mean by secure, but if privacy is what you're thinking of, Nostr does address it. If you're worried about government tracking you, you still need to take your own measures (Tor, VPN, etc).
There are different proposals (NIPS) for DM functionality, and each client may, or may not, be implementing none, one, some, or all. But don't quote me on that. 😉
It's healthier to feel your emotions, and let them out, than to hold them in. It may not be fun, but you are better off for it.

Meanwhile, had a fund been developing to replace the "bubble gum and baling wire" solution, they wouldn't have let it sink to the depths they are in now. I totally understand squeezing every last bit of ROI, but after a mistake has been made, passing the buck is usually the most expensive option.
At least you have plenty to keep you busy. If the company can afford it, you're in a good shape!
