There are probably some intangibles. Plenty of companies beg there employees to take time off to reduce burnout. Raising productivity.

If you don’t get paid time off you are an hourly employee. People don’t like being hourly employees.

Obviously it is baked in. But if you are suggesting to get rid of it, it is you the employer who has to sell me on the idea that I should want it the other way

So then I can invest the additional money and afford to take unpaid leave?
How can you prove to yourself you are getting paid more than the contrary in this situation? The employer says you make $X and says be happy you aren’t making $Y but also have time off?

Just got back from a trip to Maui, and whenever I am hiking I look for mushrooms to take pictures of.
Was looking looking for a Panaeolus cyanescens, and I don't really do identification very well, and wouldn't probably pick anything anyways.
In addition to a couple of types of mushrooms (maybe an oyster!), saw a lizard and some star fruit.

I just read “1491” and the sequel “1493” which I think was pretty amazing books. Sort of changed my whole perspective on world history.

I’m making tech that scratches my itch, but does it scratch a lot of people itches? Idk. Also I’m not sure if I want to help everybody learn to grow with the claim that “it’s easy the tech does everything”. No the tech never does everything. It always requires work.
On the other hand, I can myself buy into established technology and leverage it to make me more productive. And allow myself to #focus on providing real value to more people.
The number of people in need of mushroom based products is much much much higher than the need for mushroom growing technology.

I bought a mini fridge for my lab and it’s way too small. Can’t fit media bottles inside upright. Costco or Craigslist sells chest freezers for pretty cheap and they have the head room that I need.
Very interesting idea. I’ve been needing a better mycology fridge to store my cultures. Also have the PID and sensors ready to go.
That is pretty cool idea. Put a QR code onto a little plaque so you can scan it and quickly make an observation.
