Geek. Bitcoiner. Economist.

99% of hashers mean "didn't split the block reward" when they say "solo". Continuing to use the word in an idiosyncratic way is just a barrier to communication at this point.

No, avian carrier is transport/network layer. That's why there's an RFC. https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc1149

Y'all can sleep on the ground if you want to. I just want the fire and pigmeat.

This is true, but we need more precise language for this. I am once again proposing "sovereign" as the opposite of "hashes someone else's template" while leaving "solo" to mean "doesn't share the block reward".

So:

- self-hosted Public Pool, CKPool, or datum_gateway without pool split = sovereign solo mining

- DATUM on Ocean = sovereign pool mining

- using the Public Pool or CKPool servers = centralized solo mining

- Antpool Borg = centralized pool mining

Followed by quietly updating the web site to correct the figure to $47.

Yes, but then I realize it's the kids who are wrong.

I mean, it's not even a question that it technically is fractionally reserved even now, though its assets are safer and more liquid now. But in the past it's been downright wild…

And yet Tether has been, and for all we really know still is, basically a fractional reserve bank.

Dammit, man. Why would you do that on a day I have to be in the classroom teaching? That's just cruel.

I mean, LFG.
