Super pleased with how the west end of the #greenhouse came out yesterday. The doors are hung and fit exactly, to the point I can't exactly open them at the same time. I'm fine with it though as I won't need any hardware to keep the doors closed. The plastic is dual layer on either side to hopefully last a long time since it is not the good quality greenhouse film. Today I will get the east end plastic installed and have the major work done on it for the winter.

The Native American sweat lodges are just such a thing. There are a number of designs to can find online to get ideas. The biggest part is having the materials and the gumption to start. I have built a number of them over the years when we go camping.
We only buy sides anymore. Quality is WAY better and price works out way better over the poundage. I wish our local ranch would get more bison, we got half of one of their last this year.
Mixed the tobacco is fine, on it's own it's a bit rough. I have not "cured" it like the norm, I just hung it to dry then crumbled it into jars and bags. I grew Hopi and Delaware Indian tobaccos and Bel-B which I got at the NASA Ames center in Maryland that was growing in their planter outside. The Bel-B grew the best of the 3 but took the longest. The Hopi and Delaware were flowered out mid summer but the Bel-B didn't flower until right before frosts. I grew them in my greenhouse and they went crazy.
I have mullien everywhere around the farm but have never heard of putting it in smoking mixes. I grew my own tobacco this year and have been mixing that with my cannabis a little bit here and there.

Yesterday I got the end of the #greenhouse taken apart then resized and reinstalled. The french doors now fit perfectly after removing the pavers. I need to get hinges for them today and cut new plastic for the rest of the end. It was nice I only had to remove 2.25" from each side to get the frame wide enough. I'm stoked that I've had this weather window that has allowed me to get this done. There is still more to do but I'm on the home stretch now.

Yesterday I got the plastic secured to the north side of the #greenhouse after I got all the hoops raised inside. I now have 7 feet to the top purlin inside which will make the next growing season a lot easier to work with the space. With the extra height I am going to hopefully be able to fit the french doors in now that I can widen the door frame. The new plastic is so much nicer than the old, thicker, clearer, perfect condition with no flaws. Just having the plastic draped over the frame made the temperature noticeably warmer than the crisp winter air outside.

These are pictures of pictures that are up in the NW Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane. The original images are of the Native American tribes that lived around Okanogan in central Washington state from around 1910. The most striking thing to me is how grizzled looking even the kids are. They were living in essentially the end times of their tribal life and likely weren't aware of what was coming.

I got the new plastic for the #greenhouse yesterday and was able to get it partially installed. It is just laying over the top of the frame for now as I have to raise all the hoops today. The plastic I had on was 20 foot wide and this new stuff is 24 feet wide. I had to lower the frame to fit the 20ft so now I get to raise it back up and have ample space to walk this next year.
We took the boys to the NW #Museum of arts and culture in the afternoon to see the Minecraft exhibit once more before it is done the end of the month.

After the red #sunrise in the morning then no weather to follow I got the plastic on the #greenhouse ready to pull and replace today. I had to leave it still on the greenhouse because one side is open to the birds and I am not wanting them all piling into the nice snow free dirt. The antenna mast is back up and I pulled one antenna from it. I'm quite anxious to give my macro rail a good test this weekend but I will have to do a refresher on how to do image stacking in GIMP.

After the school winter concert yesterday I got most of the strips and clips removed from the #greenhouse to free the top plastic. I left some attached so the plastic doesn't get blown off between now and tomorrow when the new plastic arrives. I hiked up to the upper property and got a nice sunny view of the valley before getting a nice view of one of the Bald Eagles. They will be laying soon but have yet to, though they have reclaimed their nest in preparation.

We have a number of small lumber yards around the Inland Northwest that have survived pretty well but we also have a glut of trees available. They serve the rural communities and also have killer prices on quality lumber with a bunch of local lumber mills. Especially compared to the crap the HD or Lowes gets in stock. My dream is a small lumber mill of my own but I need a tractor to lift logs for that.
The recipe is super easy but it helps to have a press for sure. I change out cups of flour for pea protein powder and quinoa and millet flours to add more protein.
3 cups flour
1 Tbl baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 Tbl oil
1 cup hot water
Yesterday morning was spent futzing with electronics. I managed to get one success and one failure but the failure is due to the 10 year old router bricking. I finally made a new batch of #tortillas and the whole family was super happy as they dug into the nice fresh warm stack of them. I love them for the protein I have packed in them since they make great snacks.

The belligerent generation? Nothing better to do than feed their tiny egos?
Mute is a mandatory part of any social media environment, otherwise it becomes chaos and no one will stay expet those that revel in the chaos.
Another grain run super early yesterday morning. 3 of the barrels got spread atop the snow covering the main #garden and the 4th barrel got dumped to the sheep who were all quite happy for it. They all piled into the grain and fought with each other vying for the best spot to munch on. The snow is cleared from the greenhouse in preparation for the new plastic which will be here Friday. The temps are warm enough that I should be able to get it changed out this weekend.

6" of wet and heavy #snow fell overnight so my morning was spent behind the snowblower. Mid day was spent resting from the exertion and the boys got to watch Office Space for the first time. I'm hoping this week will be warmer than forecast to melt as much of this snow off as possible.
