After seeing the side of the highway coated in white flowers in the morning I went for a wander up to the top of the property in the afternoon and outside the fenceline I found a slew of wildflowers growing. The white I saw along the highway is wild phlox and I also found white shooting stars mixed with purple shooting stars. The region is getting into full bloom now but thankfully my allergies are staying at bay so far.

That was a long drive yesterday. Left SLC at 8am and after 11 hours of driving we pulled back onto the farm. The truck was quickly emptied of our travel stuff and we were able to relax for the evening. I went on my rounds around the farm and found that I have a bunch of sproiuts popping in the main garden. Makes sense as the seeds have been in for over 2 weeks now.
Today it is right back to the regular routine.

I grew up at the south entrance so it was always there. Yosemite is the most insane meca for climbing and El Cap is the best wall in the world. I climbed the nose for my first time in 96 and we were the party in front of Erik Weihenmayer, the blind climber. We topped out and there was a news crew there who interviewed us before Erik topped out. Such a wild experience for my first Elcap route. Alex is a psycho but also the least fearful climber in the world and he has been tested to show he has a much lower stress response than most every other human.
Little Cottonwood Canyon, my youngest on the Warm Up / Direct North Face of Shothole bouldering problem. Super cool boulders and I got 3 problems climbed. I felt how utterly weak I am and need to get myself back strong. We will be going back to my bouldering area 3 miles from the farm this summer to work on strength and technique.

I grew up climbing in Yosemite and I knew over a dozen people who have splatted base or wingsuiting. The margins are SOOO fine with that and the survival rate is really low overall. My time now paragliding has mostly killed my desire to jump as the gliding is more my mental statet now. In my youth I would have jumped given the chance but not now. There always seems to be the tendency to push things further and further and I'm kinda happy I'm still feeling fear so I don't get myself in ove my head. We have speed wings that I can go to is I feel the need for speed and proximity flying.

What a killer flight I got at Point Of The Mountain in Utah. It really is one of the best places to fly in the country. It took me a while to get myself in the air but once I did it was glorious. The only reason I landed was my arms were getting real sore. I had to work to get down too but I learned a lot and it was my first time flying amongst so many pilots. There were 50 pilots in the air at one point.
Today we are going up Little Cottonwood canyon for some bouldering then this evening we are seeing Puscifer, A pPerfefct Circle, and Primus for Mayard's 60th birthday tour, Sesenta.

That's been a dream of mine forever, I want to sky dive. But damnit this gliding is as addictive I think. Free flight is a world of its own.
OMG just a simple conversation and I learned so much about paragliding that WILL help me in 2 hrs when I go fly the Point Of the Mountain. Sooo excited and I love Super Fly! Take a wrap on my brakes and let the glider do its thing in lift, don't over react. I am fine being on the light side of my glider and just need more experience with it.

We got in a really nice soak in before leaving the hot springs yesterday morning. It was nice and quiet with hardly anyone out at 7am. We got a good hour in then had to get on the road. We stopped at our friend's in Pocatello for lunch and a visit then we were on our way to Salt Lake City.
Seriously Air BnB has some really good deals. We have a 3 bedroom place which is hte lower level of a house with pool access for less than hotels cost. For stays of 3 days or more it is really the way to go.
Today we hope to hit up the Harvest Right headquarters, a climbing shop by Little Cottonwood Canyon, then this afternoon I plan to paraglide at the Point of the Moiuntain.

I haven't had the heart to catch the few we have in our creek. I want them to multiply enmass but haven't found a good way to get them breeding more. The water is clean enough since they live there. Such tasty creatures though!
I love the SDR for pulling down the NASA images from the space station. I've been able to get them with my antenna but it works better to use websdr.org so can follow the station around the planet.
The incline is fun. I like up the steps and down the Barr. The trail down resets the hips after all those stairs.

I really do love Fairmont Hot Springs in Montana. This place is killer and the pools aer always super nice to soak in. It is one of the nicer hot springs we have been to, it's kept up well and has a pretty constant flow of people through. We try to stay here most times we are passing by and boy is it worth it. We will get another good soak in this morning before we leave.
