How much lag are you seeing between messages? Loading should be really fast these days. It's practically unnoticeable. And when it loads, there are animations to expand of reposition each note, image or video.

When it comes to content on Nostr, I prefer my fire hose of everything from everyone that I follow. However, I do check out the trending notes on Snort, to make sure I didn't miss any great notes from people while I was out touching grass or working. I prefer to be my own algorithm. However, I do see a need for them for specific reasons and circumstances such as providing new users with content and providing content discovery for when we've been away from Nostr and need to play catch up.
