Not a Polar Bear, who went from Electronics -> Software -> Databases -> Monetary Systems.

If in doubt, zoom out.

BANKSY

There’s much interest in #Bitcoin citrcles about the US presidential election coming up soon.

I suggest that people forget that #BTC is a global phenomenon: for everyone from the unbanked to nation states. And remember this, the USA is only 25% of the global economy.

Are Bitcoiners putting too much emphasis on the (failing?) US fiat, debt burdened economy?

Isaac Newton was born just one year after Galileo died.

Don’t just hodl, spend and replace! I visited Art Club, Bristol, UK for a coffee and paid with #Bitcoin. Here’s a cheesy photo of Corin and me having done the deed. Nice flat white, by the way.

I feared that this might be happening.

I've been driving past this power plant multiple times per week, over the last couple of months.

It's a huge site that you can see from tens of miles away.

Was always impressed with the mountains of coal that they had there.

The machinery that was driving on it to move it around looked like toys lol

Over the last few 5-6 months, I noticed that the piles of coal began getting smaller and smaller.

I figured that it was because summer was coming and there's been less demand.

All I ever saw coming out of this was steam.

I wonder how difficult would be to convert it into a nuclear power station, given that it has plenty of water sources next to it.

A nice as it would be to convert the site into a carbon free generator, I think building a nuclear power station is quite tricky.

There’s only so much meditation one can do. I’d need some complex music (Bach) and a challenging book. You can recommend the book when you send the airline tickets and the reservation details - and I promise to read it carefully.

Just like FOSS, don’t let aspirations to perfect get in the way of great.

Presuming it’s understood that #Bitcoin is not a cryptocurrency, I suggest the following edit to the otherwise excellent news feed from coingecko.com

There’s much discussion about the reselling of #Oasis concert tickets at 40x face value. This is simply a case of the market finding the accepted value for a commodity. Price fixing (by cancelling resold tickets, for example) is not the answer. It’s hard to track ownership of the tickets. I can see two approaches. Go full KYC, AML, the “Glastonbury” way and require photo ID or how about letting the market find its own level?

One simple way to implement the latter would be to hold a Dutch Auction. Start ticket sales at £10,000 and gradually reduce the price until all are sold. Sure, the band would make a lot more than selling tickets at £150 and there would be claims of profiteering. One response to that would be to give excessive profits to charities, maybe those supporting up and coming musicians. The question now arises, how much money should the concerts be expected to generate for the band, the crew, the promoter, the venue, etc. Maybe that’s more detail than they would like to disclose.
