building on nostr

#[4] is there a command to dismiss gpt3?

also looks like you got an impersonator, unless this is you..? #[4]

hey I am not able to recreate this. you're just hitting reply button, then typing @mon and then hitting enter? every time I do this the cursor ends up after the mention.

looks like it needs to treat the e tag with 'reply' marker as 'root' when replying. will fix.

wdym by replies are truncated too narrowly?

you mean after the mention populates in the input area, put cursor before the mention? for me I definitely want it after the mention

I agree with this. I plan to outsource moderation to users somehow. need to think through incentives though so it doesn't lend itself to abuse.

but ironically, its iOS that you need to worry about zero day exploits on, not android. would not have predicted that 5 years ago. makes me think iOS exploits were no accident/bug.

generally as a policy I don't install apps that I can use in browser. I use twitter in browser even on mobile.

but if installing additional apps on your phone is not a concern, agree that native app is preferred.

I think both camps exist and both will need nostr services

I dunno I think it could work.

I just don't like the incentives it sets up. namely, power users are more important to nostr infrastructure providers than plebs.

personally hate the idea of it being invite-only

I agree with your point about spammers using asics. though I do think this will only be a profitable attack once nostr has sizable user base, even then its not a low cost spam attack

still thing pow is worth trying, at least for now

🤣 actually loading things is always good

yes, this is something I am going to start doing. however I don't view it as a fix for ensuring posts are propagated appropriately.

not clear on what you are suggesting but also don't have experience with pow. would use the same basic algorithm as bitcoin mining pow (I believe). but wouldn't use/integrate with actual bitcoin mining network, would make it way to expensive
