Growing up at an American school in an Arabic country that had been a French colony kids on my playground would effortlessly switch languages mid sentence when they weren’t sure of a word, and others had no issue following the switch. Even many decades later that fluidity amazes me.

Yes!! It’s incredible. My exposure to that isn’t as deep as yours but the experience I’ve had with it is very very interesting. That sounds like it was a really cool place to be and learn different cultures.

Makes you realize the power of being surrounded by multiple languages at a young age. It becomes such a natural thing.

One of my favorite parts of French hip-hop is there’s almost always a blend of French, English and or another language. Make it seem super effortless and has a wide reach.

Closest the US has is English+Spanish/Spanglish. But not as widespread/popular.

Not that all rap should include English. Just very interesting that there’s enough of a comfortability with 2-3++ languages there that music can be made in that vein.

Cashu aims to be the open ecash protocol for the web built on #Bitcoin. One of the big challenges of ecash lies in its barer asset nature: if you lose your wallet, your funds are gone.

Not anymore! 👇

In this update, we introduce BIP32 secret derivation and BIP39 mnemonics. You can write down your 12-words and store them safely just like a Bitcoin seed phrase.

If you lose access to your wallet, you can use your seed phrase to restore your balance.

To update Nutshell, enter `pip install cashu -U`.

Once updated, you can see your mnemonic via:

`cashu info --mnemonic`

To restore your wallet (wallet must be new!), enter:

`cashu restore`

For now, this is only available in Nutshell, the reference implementation. However, we aim to provide the same functionality across all Cashu wallets.

Invited some friends over. Zero sleep still but I banged out some good food.

Pulled pork cooked in a texas mop sauce, garlic slaw, greek salad, and IMO the star of the show my potato buns that turned out way better than they had any right to be. I dunno potato bread is still a mystery to me.
