In my experience it takes

7-10 years to get rich.

20+ years to get wealthy.

2-3 years to get in shape.

5-10 years to have a deep trusted relationship.

10 years to be an overnight success.

it's about insulin and blood sugar

alcohol and cannabis increase insulin response, caffeine (via paraxanthine) increases conversion of fats into blood sugar, i know there is definitely a big role of blood glucose regulation with methamphetamine, and i found that after about 24 hours (and fasting, obviously) it changed my metabolism in a way that helped me think clearer, though continuing to dose after that point leads to a slow crash of blood sugar that you can tell is happening because your body gets colder and you can't think properly... most likely cocaine has a substantial effect on blood sugar too, it's just a drug i've rarely taken because for me it is worse than too much alcohol and too much amphetamine at the same time, the hangover is horrendous

all of these are addictive drugs, all have notable effects on sugar metabolism

it's not and never has been about dopamine, it's about blood sugar

People don’t care about privacy

People don’t care about real health they just want a quick fix.

People don’t care about work, they want the path of least resistance and if they have to sell their soul for a free doughnut then that’s what they’ll do without a moment’s hesitation.

People don’t want to learn and they surely don’t want to have to think or problem solve.

People will believe whatever is fed to them and go along with it because it’s easy.

I think a good amount of people consider bitcoin a bubble, or inflated, and expect it to crash. I think this a misunderstanding of what a bubble is. A bubble in houses, tech, cars, etc are from allocating value above the utility value of the asset, thus creating a monitory value on top of the utility value.

With bitcoin the utility value is monitory, so it's more of a pure measure of how much society values sound money. Sure speculators can leverage in the short term and deceive the market, but all that does is call more attention to it, and when someone takes a close look they don't often go back.

and yeah, the immediate toxicity is primarily from iodine 131, and to a lesser extent from caesium 137 but both of those are all decayed to much less toxic things within weeks

that is not to say that the fine dusty uranium that boils out and recondenses and blows around is not toxic, just that its effects are slow, it doesn't absorb easily except into the lungs and doesn't pass from there easily into the blood, but the cancer rates are way above what they would have been since 1986 for decades afterwards

but yeah, plutonium reaction is not a meltdown, it's so hot it explodes with more force than any chemical, hydrogen/oxygen/nitrogen based explosives, and mostly the atoms are shattered into subatomic high energy particles and electrons, so there is not a lot of this splitting into other elements like the iodine and cesium

radiation from plutonium bombs is way overhyped... it took 30 years for a whole nuclear reactor of shitloads of uranium that got covered in concrete to recover to the point that all the animals and plants are fully recovered in the region of Pripyat around Chernobyl

the amount of material involved that leaked before they put the sarcophagus around it was maybe a few hundred kilos of very hot uranium... a typical nuclear bomb has like ounces to pounds of plutonium in it and that simply is not going to be comparable, even if it was all iodine 131 (which it isn't)

How do you have patience with people when you see your government putting all of the pieces together to literally destroy the lives of millions and then have to see people cheer for it, having no clue what they are doing?

I feel like I’m just getting angrier and shorter tempered with anyone pushing their political bullshit and it’s getting harder to reel it in.

Maybe I’m just in a bad mood with things that have been happening lately and I’m focusing on the wrong things, but Jesus it’s frustrating as hell.
