Because it's impossible in a decentralized protocol
Yes, but I think you have to delineate your territory in advance - through hosted, moderated, or cryptographically bound spaces. On Twitter, you were trusting them to be police for the public square. Here, there are no police, so you must personally protect your own space (or start your own town).
In the RL public square, you kind of do have to just tolerate whatever lunatic accosts you, until they cross into criminal assault. We just have a civil society.
Block isn't real, since it can always be circumvented. It's a lazy way to remove people from your audience. As in real life, you can't control the actions of others, you can only control your own actions. The affordances we have for protecting ourselves in the digital world are limited by the nature of communication and cryptography.
Here's a preview from my interview with fiatjaf, coming out tomorrow 👀

AI transcriptions are great.
Challenging words from Jesus for today:
“...if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?"
Equally disappointing when someone you consider a cool person employs a dystopian concept like "hate speech"
Streaming some development this fine rainy afternoon
It’s enabled by the more complex bech32 ids like nprofile and nevent because they can contain embedded relay information.
Clients that handle it can then use that info to manually fetch from the note authors relay.
I don’t think many clients fully implement this yet though. Because it’s pretty complicated.
nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn does coracle?
Yep. Coracle doesn't re-broadcast though, because hints and nip 65 are usually enough. It's not a bad idea though.

New Coracle release — mostly maintenance, just fine tuning feeds after re-writing them. This should mostly prevent Coracle from getting stuck from time to time.
I did however add an About page with a donation link, so if you want to support Coracle development, please check out https://coracle.social/about

Getting RSI from scrolling nostr so much (mostly because I'm trying to fix a bug in Coracle's feeds)
An uncle jim distro would be awsome: "host this and let your friends deploy their own relays"
Just don't support reposts

Relay.tools is promising (not self hosted though).
Yep, looks like it: https://www.sil.org/about
You know, the trade offs. In nostr's case I think of search, caching, big relays, media hosting, no key rotation, poor encryption. We are working on fixing nip 04, will we have the desire to fix the rest? I think that we do is an assumption of nostr development and incremental improvement in general.
Does the same thing apply to nostr?

Introduced #nostr to those who work with indigenous languages around the world, thanks to nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn.

Also, thanks to nostr:npub1fl7pr0azlpgk469u034lsgn46dvwguz9g339p03dpetp9cs5pq5qxzeknp for the nostr logo.
Check out a short interview I did with SIL. Glad to see organizations like this get interested in nostr.
