Some days you just feel like an idiot. I put the cows in a new paddock on rented land. I plugged in the fence charger but I missed a step I forgot to hook up the hot side of the fence.

The difference between where the cows have been and where they are going. It was really wet today moving the cows but they didn't seem to mind.

The cows got moved to fresh grass today. Look at the size of the clover in this field this field is covered with clover.

Cattle prices are the highest that they have been in my lifetime. Cattle farmers are making good money. They US Cattle herd is the smallest it has been in my lifetime. The cattle herd can not grown as fast as chicken or hogs so high beef prices may be around for some time.

It makes you think that if a few people decide to stop coming into work how much it could dispute your life. I also wonder how long it would take use to notice if those government workers stopped coming into work.

This week has been a hard one for southern farmers. The Arctic blast pushed through the deep south and it froze many places that haven't froze in a long time.

When you eat tonight I want you to remember the farmer that grew the food that is on your plate.

I was able to get 3 bull calves up on Saturday then they got out on Sunday morning and I was able to catch them again on Sunday Afternoon. Now I just got to get them on the trailer this afternoon.

Wow it’s been a quick week. Already Thursday I've been dealing with sick kids and my list keeps growing. The track jumped off the skid steer. I still have to finish getting the pool setup. And the regular stuff work cows, check fences and mow yards.

Friday! Friday! Friday! Wow it feels like this week has been a month long. I have been neck deep in firewall programming this week. This weekend we have a T-ball tournament. I hope to get the liner in our pool and if I am lucky get some bull calves in the catch pen.

Yes, and we are finding out the coax company does not properly ground their equipment so I guess we will be adding ethernet surge protectors on all our coax clients.

Working in IT I have seen some strange things. Yesterday was one of those. I had a site that had 2 internet connections with failover the failover has been tested and is working.

I get a call that the internet was down at the location. I went onsite and both wan ports were dead on the firewall as well as the DMZ switch.

It looks like lightning hit the coax connection killed the coax modem , DMZ switch and both WAN ports on the Firewall.

Luckily I was able to put a backup firewall in place and get them up on a fiber connection but that was a strange one.

Remember the small wins are still wins.

That was me just trying to keep myself positive.

My wife always questions my mechanical aptitude but I was able to change the starter and get the car running. Only had to go back to the parts store once.

It's funny how fast plans can change. It was a busy weekend and busy Monday for me. Today I get to learn how to install a new starter on my wives car.

I come from a log line of quick thinkers. I can usually see where something is going before getting there. If we are working together I may be laying out the next steps to save us time.

When I encounter someone that isn't as quick and has to be explained each step extensively I get frustrated. Now that my company has grown I am having to delegate more which causes more frustration on having to explain each little thing.

This zoo has a small raised bed garden but it needs a little love.

The small Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is a great break from the sand and salt. Most zoos really push conservation but none use permaculture or other regenative ag practices. This Zoo has a petting section with lots of goats but I have watched multiple employees running weed eaters around the place

Traveling with 2 kids (3 if you ask my wife) is a pain trying to pack everything they will need for a week. I think I need to invest in a RV or Camper.

We had one client that we setup email for but they still want to use their AOL email for every thing

Why do people still use gmail for doing business? They already own a domain and want me to add their gmail address to the website.

What's worse are the ones still using a bellsouth.net address that uses a yahoo backend.
