Another reason is that the number of square meters per person has gone up. At least in the US. Bitcoin for sure is rare though. There are few things as hard to produce as bitcoin. And I think nothing as hard to produce while being so useful.

This AI production is probably âimportantâ, being the first AFAIK to win an art competition.
If AI creates some art - letâs say a painting -depicting the death of the last human, if it were to do that, and broadcasts it across the universe and carves it into each new world it visits, that would certainly meet my criteria for an âimportantâ work.
Today, where even horses are not economical for most heavy-bag-movement-use-cases, we find *people* carrying heavy bags long distances.
I think creativity will be the same. Most of what we think of as economically-relevant âcreativityâ will be replaced, some will remain, and plenty of economically-independent or tangential creativity will keep being done by humans to scratch the human entertainment / inspiration itch, at least insofar as that itch requires that humans be the scratchers. Iâd guess this is a smaller percent of the demand for creativity than the romantics think.

I hear you and thatâs a good point. I think I still disagree. 72B still lets 10% of current txs through! 8T every 20 years would only allow them to bring transactions down to ~2% of current rate. Fees would be &$$&, ecash in a given mint would still be free. I suppose the mining industrial complex would lobby for that money, but we wouldnât have any boys to immortalize for their sacrificed lives. No football stadium flyovers cuz ASICS are boring. Just data centers consuming loads of electricity, creating relatively few jobs, costing tons. There environmentalists would be absolutely extinct over the amount of CO2 or what have you being pumped into the air/earth Maybe Iâm wrong about this.

That guy is a little kookie imo. Heavy on big sounding stuff. Loose on details. How much do you think they are willing to spend to dos bitcoin? I canât see them ever even trying knowing that the entire current US budget would still let transactions with faaat stacks of fees slip through.
Why bother pushing back or why bother mining empty blocks?
What would that do? It would cost about 72 billion dollars a year today to cut the tx rate to a tenth of current assuming other miners kept mining. Transactions will still confirm fees will be juicy. Ecash btw on the same mint would be untouched. Would probably explode. Harder for me to say what Lightning would do.
And weâd probably see it coming from a mile away because nobody would be able to buy miners for a long time.

Someone could write a bot for Nostr that gives people hints on what they could change to meet whatever their goal is. Letâs say their goal is to be X% positive in their replies.
Or it could say âhey, you follow a lot of people who post things that often cause people to ____, consider unfollowing ____ todayâ
Stuff like this makes me giggle sometimes
