Back in January I was trying to understand Damus source code, to see if something could be done about scrolling performance (its great now but was horrible back then). The first thing I was looking for to get a basic understanding was the database and I just couldn't find it. I thought my Swift/iOS skills were too far behind and had to learn modern Swift/iOS development first. So I started Nostur to learn.
Turns out, Damus didn't have a database...
It would be better. The current Explore tab was a temporary solution to help with onboarding, it shows posts of people followed by nostr:npub147ayzharr9z02702lrffrgwhd0pr0ff84puwjtt78w0uv6d3gvsqnmlgyz
I haven’t updated it in a while
I will first add those separately and maybe enable mixing where it makes sense

Just some random stuff from #[1] sessions. (They chose .m3u8 as stream format)
Got it working in the upcoming TestFlight build:

Good suggestions, do you have some example .m3u8 posts I can try it with?
This was fixed in yesterdays update 1.4.0 (135) or do you still have this issue?
I've made a test version with the macOS version requirement lowered to 12.4, you can try: https://nostur.com/Nostur-1.5.0-pre.dmg
How it looks on Nostur:

#Nostur 1.4.0 is now on the App Store
New since 1.3.0:
- Added Imposter label for accounts with similar name/profile pic as someone you already follow
- Added Last seen label on profiles
- Improved support for long form article replies
- Many bug fixes and performance improvements

App Store: https://nostur.com/appstore
Non-App Store: (with zaps on posts): https://nostur.com/desktop
nostr:npub1n0sturny6w9zn2wwexju3m6asu7zh7jnv2jt2kx6tlmfhs7thq0qnflahe is there a known bug with Nostur not displaying images properly sometimes? This has happened before. I uploaded the image directly to the Nostr.build website and then pasted the image link in Nostur and published it. In Nostur it looks messed up even after force closing and reopening the app. The same post looks fine in Damus.
very strange, no I have not seen this before.
btw, you said you are running it on an Intel Mac? Because last time I tried I couldn’t figure out how to make it available for Intel and I don’t have an Intel to test. Turns out it already works? Are you using the non-app store version?
Hey, guys, got a noob question I never thought of before: What’s the difference between the Display name and Username? What is username’s use case?
From what I see, username, display name and the prefix of your address can be all different and all of them can be used to tag or search for users. Feels like we’ve got an unnecessary “Name” field. What am I missing?

I have seen name, displayName, display_name, username. It’s a bit of a mess and it should only be name as specified in nip-01 imo.
The only username in nostr is the npub and the nip05 nostr address makes the npub human readable or easy to find.
From Nostur I have already removed all the names except these above.
hmmm this shouldn’t be that hard to implement, I think I might add this
I’ll look into showing the QR, should be possible. I was using BlueWallet desktop before NWC.
