Wow. I think that's the first time in the history of humanity someone has acquiesced to arguments over the internet. ;)
If you want to know what gave rise to Bitcoin, you must know what gave rise to science. If you want to know what gave rise to science, you must know what gave rise to observation. If you want to know what gave rise to observation, you must understand the values that inspired humanity to notice what's real.
To notice what's real, you must understand God and his word.
The real question is, what are the incentives and constraints that Lightning node operators and potential node operators are responding to given their specific context? Bottom line is, those who believe it's worth it are running nodes, and those who don't believe it's worth it are not running nodes. Unless someone not in that context is willing to go to a different context to spin up new nodes, or finance someone who wants to spin up a node but doesn't have the money, there are exactly as many Lightning nodes in operation as the incentives and constraints of the context the person is in is relating to as seems worth it.
"Too Western dominated" makes it sounds like a central authority could make a change if they wanted. It's like asking if income is being distributed equally, even though income is not distributed. If someone doesn't like where the nodes are predominantly based, what are they doing to change it?
Amen. No money in the history of humanity needed theft at it's root foundation. Rather, they all needed perfect integrity. That's what I hope Bitcoin is, perfect, systemic monetary integrity.
The shift to privacy in Lighting would be a Holy Grail moment, increasing demand for Bitcoin as well as adaptation while increasing Bitcoin's competitive edge.
That's makes away more sense to me than leaving Twitter, just because. Twitter is a useful tool, and so is Nostr.

Yes it is. "Be careful. Things in here don't react too well to bullets."

If you want something intelligent, well written, and sophisticated, try the Korean show called Stranger on Netflix. It's excellent.
