Okay this is odd but kinda interesting.

So I watched this clip a few times cos I edited it in the car and noticed that the shop manager does something odd.

I asked “all good on your end?” In the clip when I got the green tick from nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg

notice how the shop manager doenst check his phone he just puts it away.

AND there isn’t the green tick on his phone screen that you would usually expect to see when my phone shows the tick.

I was like Dafuq is going on?!

So I went back to the shop and asked him how they accept btc.

Turns out he had received the invoice as a screenshot from his boss in a WhatsApp message.

He was showing me that screenshot AND because he knew I was filming as i asked permission, he wanted it to look slick.

Very kind of him, sure but it makes me feel a bit weird about sharing this clip as “I paid in bitcoin at this shop.”

I mean I did, technically, but the real story is more complicated.

Note that I’d been to this shop 4 days ago to buy a SIM card in btc and I hadn’t realised at the time that he must have done the same thing:

Ping his boss the request for the invoice and he showed me the screenshot.

For some businesses integrations don’t make sense for the volume. Better put a sticker that says “Bitcoin accepted here “ have a good employee when you are not there and play it by ear. I’m sure they receive lots of cash payments and they may just treat them the same way. Some declared some …

Every day a new show

Love the near weekly question of “nostr:npub1guh5grefa7vkay4ps6udxg8lrqxg2kgr3qh9n4gduxut64nfxq0q9y6hjy, do you still think mempools will ever clear?” nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx. But now realised (well, nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev and nostr:npub1wnlu28xrq9gv77dkevck6ws4euej4v568rlvn66gf2c428tdrptqq3n3wr actually helped me realise) , if there at 65mb or 35 blocks worth of transactions of 1 or 2 sats/vB, they will never clear. Feels like equilibrium as been reached.

When you need a transaction quickly, 4sats/vB gets it done and that’s cheap as!!!, willing to take some time, maybe 2sats/vB, but honestly, will there ever be so few of these ultimately very low fee transactions to allow for so many 1 and 2 sat transactions to be processed?

Unless the number of new transaction falls massively for hours on end, I doubt it. I reckon all those 1sat/vb “cheapskates” need to resend transactions with higher fees to get them processed.

Actually don’t care. Onchain transactions are cheap and they’re always plenty of transactions waiting to be processed. #bitcoin

plus there is one of those shitcoin projects that will be "mining" something at least every block until the next halvening or something

So Lets focus in having people getting interested in demanding self-sovereignty for themselves, will become unequivocally dedicated towards building a future where everyone owns their own data, and no one can cancel them or steal it away from them. (BTW i agree with you, a waste of energy.)

pretty accurate id say, but not just in the US

lets all use X from wherever in the world using a VPN connection through Brazil.. Just for LOLS
