Its the orange river. Look on satellite map. Its this stunning line of green with vineyards and fruit plantations along this amazing river that cuts through semi desert on way to Kalahari proper

Never been there to honest. Not sure if similar. Karoo is stunning.

Amazing to think am in the Kalahari desert! Just stunning

Rand, peso, szloty and Sol rising against dollar which seems to conicide with the run up in metals. So making a flywheel play might be loan in dollars, convert to one of these and buy metals in those countries and vault for 2026? Seems more complicated than just stacking SATs but if banks start moving in that trade, can see some interesting fx moves in 2026. 🤔

Today's personal lesson.

Whilst naked yoga in blazing sunshine is extremely enriching, newfound knowledge on the predilection of mosquitos for the flavour of human buttock cheek results in the addition of a new "ass scratch" pose to the routine which can impact focus on breathing.

And stop watching price. Focus on building and onboarding?

Majesty of flight!

Is it time we had some kind of bank, lawyers, real estate hate/anger indexing system with a real-time podium animation online somewhere?

Argentina? Most of Europe? Probably etc etc

We commonly talk about sovereignty from a physical perspective. I seem to keep meeting people who have strong opinions without truly being able to say why. I think psychological sovereignty requires the challenging of all personal dogmas. How can one percieve oneself as sovereign without having understanding of one's own thoughts and opinions?

Exactly what I think. If it works, anyone trying to fix it should be considered potential bad actor. At the same time, core team are incredible. I'd love to see where things would go if they focussed on L2/3 solutions rather than all this lost human energy doing things that people evidently do not want

There used to be a great t shirt sold by viz magazine with an exceptionally graphic but of art with the phrase "why let the bottom fall out of your world. Eat a vindaloo and let the world fall out of your bottom". Poetic!

You’re not voting hard enough! Ignore the politics and keep building better systems and communities

Blaming 1 person seems a little easy

I may have missed some for sure but I’ve yet to see any large centralised body do things that appear to have benefit. I include charities and things. Incredible things get done at local level and half the time seems to be spent on governments and big charities getting in the way to try to profit in some manner. Take that to a bigger level and watching what I consider to be an escence of pure unethical corruption and scum and you can have fun watching unicef around Africa. We used to watch those thugs from our office window in Angola. It’s as if any form of centralisation that creates more power or wealth projection is innately impossible for humanity to manage in a manner that doesn’t get corrupted by the most venal people. I personally don’t see that challenge being overcome without extreme decentralisation and individual sovereignty. Hope am wrong or that if right, something can be achieved that mitigates those tendencies

Sometimes it’s worth remembering to check spellings. Love nostr! And congrats sir, hope your not tooooo tired

One of the interesting things watching a team go out and push bitcoin adoption is the friction of iniquitous understand and desire to take it within the establishments. The time to get an owner onboard is one thing but getting staff to understand and learn POS etc is definitely another. This is where spending is actually playing your part IMO. It’s an opportunity to try talking a bit to staff and assist with some of the learning burden and help spread curiosity. Only by seeing people arrive at establishments and be wanting to give custom in bitcoin will the staff generate enough curiosity to ask questions and in turn be more open to adoption. Take the time when the opportunity arises, and a larger Bitcoin economy opens up to you too. Decentralised only works through community

Should probably have said am trying to get them on #nostr so please at least give a reaction here so I can nudge owner. He is a fantastic chef and be cool to get him onboarded

Currently simultaneously reading: “The Great Taking”, “The Great Depression: A Diary by Benjamin Roth” and “The Big Print”.

My take out of those 3 books overlayed on top of each other is simple:

Everything is in place for the next “Great Depression, more aptly dubbed “The Great Taking” …

1. The global velocity of money is almost at a stand still (VoM being, IMHO, the best measure of a healthy economy) meaning ‘they’ve’ broken all their toes and can no longer ‘kick the can’.

2. All the legal framework that is required, is now in place globally, to seize all assets that are not both: without encumbrances and securely self custodied.

3. These ‘improved’ legal frameworks, established globally in the past 2-3 decades, have been tested and legal precedent established post GFC.

4. The masses are cowered, divided and nihilistic as demonstrated via

A. Covid sheep response

B. attempting to have interesting conversations with friends, family, acquaintances, work colleagues, strangers about anything that is not in line with mainstream narrative.

C. Global marriage and birth rates

D. Global suicide rates.

Prepare accordingly: NFA

1. Gather self-custodied hard assets: Bitcoin, Gold. Not your keys, not your coins

2. Eradicate any debt and/or leveraged positions

3. Grow your own food

4. If you live in a city, have a fall back position

5. Grow your social capital… this means love and help thy family, friends and neighbours. Even the pre-coiners.

6. Learn to hunt, fish and forage … what wildlife is are plentiful where you reside?

7. Learn to be resourceful…

8. Reduce, reuse, up cycle…

9. Master your mind and find purpose… nothing will kill you faster than nihilism.

If you start hearing people commonly calling stable coins "war bonds", might be time up prep tempo

Whilst I appreciate the comment. The eggs were from a local farmer doing small production and I am in Costa Rica. It kinda seems out of place to me. I will be talking to them and maybe they’ll change but I kind of expect this in uk or USA or whatever. Not little country farm in Costa Rica!
