Fuck yes!

I don’t need to see you ‘enjoying nature’, especially when that nature is a 5 min walk from a car park.

Literally just had a vodka fuelled conversation about how your contribution to society is more important than where you were born. If you are prepared to walk 1/2 way around the world in search of a better life you should be given a chance to make that life a reality .

I’m technically an immigrant myself and find it hard listening to people talk about illegal vs legal immigrants when so many people in my ‘home’ country are prepared to sponge of the state and contribute nothing.

Really interested to know what you think about Dr Jack Kruse’s theories relating to the impact of light on various health factors. Don’t know if getting you both on a podcast is possible but would be interesting to hear.

Imagine how much better the world would be if this was the most important headline of the day.

They must use the same PR firm as Bitcoin…

I’m not the kind of person who sees opportunities for what they could be.

I’m a pessimist rather than an optimist.

I’m much more likely to see all the ways that something could go wrong than to see how good it could be if it succeeds.

BUT

The first time I spoke to a Bitcoiner I could see it for what it was, the largest asymmetric bet that I could ever make. Infinite upside, limited downside.

I’m grateful every day that I discovered Satoshi’s gift when I did and was able to see it for what it is.

If you were a country who had decided they wanted to acquire a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve wouldn’t it make sense to take payment of taxes on Bitcoin?

Where are you really? We all know from the flat earthers that no-one is allowed to go to Antarctica 😂

I'm sharing this story with permission.

55-year-old male (eats mainly fatty meat, eggs and dairy - yes, if you know anything about the carnivore diet, you will know this is a very healthy way of eating) gets a medical done for work. Comes back very high cholesterol. His doctor wanted to put him on statins. His work needed sign-off from his doctor to continue to work. He knew his doctor wouldn't sign off on this!

Now, if you have read The Great Cholesterol Myth by Bowden and Sinatra, you would know that you need to work out the triglyceride to HDL ratio. If that is under 2, then you have nothing to worry about. Note that both measurements have to be in mg/dL (use this here omnicalculator.com/health/cholest…), and then trigs divided by HDL gives you the ratio! His works out to 2.25. Perhaps a little high, possibly due to him having spent the previous week eating a fair amount of carbs (way more than usual due to travelling).

I encouraged him to go see a low-carb doctor, as generally, they are clued up about cholesterol. He found one, who himself used the same ratio and said he was low risk, but said the only way to get his work off his back was to go for a coronary artery calcium (CAC) scan.

Well, guess what his CAC score was. Zero! And his original (idiot) doctor wanted to put him on statins!

By the way, yes statins lower cholesterol, but low cholesterol does not mean low risk!

For those who think he is still at risk because of high LDL, see here tctmd.com/news/zero-cac-…

I highly recommend reading The Great Cholesterol Myth if you haven't already. You will find a link on my website (link in bio).

When I was in my early 30s I was told my cholesterol was high and I should start taking statins.

Just a short amount of research told me that I’d rather take my chances with high cholesterol than the side effects of statins.

Was thinking along similar lines. Who doenst like cheap labour? When have economies suffered because of cheap labour?

Economies grow by making stuff, making stuff at a competitive price is easier when labour is cheaper.

I’d much rather get my car washed by a person than a machine.

IMO the issue is the number of people who are net negative on the economy vs number of people who are net positive. If you are net contributing to the economy it should matter what colour your skin or passport are.
