Developing NostrOP https://nostrop.com on PantherX OS https://www.pantherx.org/. My opinions are the sum of my inputs.

That's just pure stupidity / ignorance / entitlement.

1. Not every Russian supports this war; Punishing them for actions of the dictatorship they live in (which thev have 0 say in), grows resentment.

2. By this logic, nobody should trade or even communicate with any US citizen, as their dictatorship is responsible for virtually every revolution and war in the past 100 years.

So kindly go fu** yourself Team UI8.

More like the "western" community though I'm sure someone in Japan will hate me for this.

It's real cool - don't get me wrong. I just wonder what compells someone to use this, aside from the fact it's on Nostr?

I mean, there's 1,000,000,000 recipe websites out there, all of which arguable provide the same, and are much easier to find (because they are indexed).

I like to cook myself, and I've always thought about sharing some recipe some time, but I wonder if I'd end up putting it on nostr.cooking, or any other site? What speaks for nostr.cooking is the novelty, maybe the ease of access (because I'm already on Nostr), but I'd have to worry about persistance (relay deletes old notes?) and visibility (not indexed; mostly for Nostr users). Of course I don't really care if anyone sees it, but I'm also not trying to get anything out of it, but the pleasure of sharing.

Maybe something like lightning splits could be used to generate bulk-purchases with vendors, to obtain cheaper / more high quality ingredients? Like where 100 people on Nostr split a cow - that when flly grown, will be distributed among these 100 backers.

I mean, there's got to be some value here beyond ... here's another recipe website - and you cannot get blocked, in case someone finds it offensive ;)

I guess I'll implement Satellite CDN for image uploads tomorrow. It's the most viable solution involving LN payments right now.

Some new stuff is coming to NostrOP

- Link previews

- Improved account menu with QR login option

The fu** happened with Twitter? Posts from 4 years ago on top? I thought not having order, was a Nostr problem.

Every time I visit habla.news, I see the same content featured on the side. It's kind of sad.

EXIT.pub 0.3 is out!

✅ reliability improvements

This version is a significant improvement on reliability. When publishing events

fails, or a relay stops accepting your events, EXIT.pub will gracefully handle this

and will allow you to resume the publishing where it left off.

✅ Satellite CDN support

Now you can opt to buy storage on nostr:npub1lunaq893u4hmtpvqxpk8hfmtkqmm7ggutdtnc4hyuux2skr4ttcqr827lj 's CDN to store

all your images, instead of leaving them hosted on Twitter's servers.

*I have NO affiliation with this CDN, I don't get a cut or anything like that, I just like his service and its documentation, it's very Nostr-centric (upload to your Satellite CDN account by signing a nostr event proving who you are!)

✅ EXIT.pub relay

Until now, many relays were rejecting backdated events; if none of your relays accepted any event, EXIT.pub would not give you any feedback (if you clicked "publish events" and nothing happened, this is what was happening)

I have properly handled this now so you know what's happening, as well as added an wss://relay.exit.pub relay that will allow these imports; if EXIT.pub sees that your relays are all rejecting your imports, it will suggest you use this relay.

✅ Published relay breakdown

EXIT.pub will now show you exactly which relays have accepted each event.

✅ Reimporting events

If a previous run of EXIT.pub failed midway and you have *some* events imported, you can reimport those tweets, your events will *not* be duplicated, even if you imported previously without Satellite CDN and now you use Satellite CDN, the previous event with the Twitter-hosted images will be deleted.

Check it out!

Cool. I didn't know about Satellite CDN.

News-mills keeping us busy with shit that doesn't even make sense.

He basically risked dropping his kid, to catch the ball. Great dad.

This could have easily ended with a split skull.

No matter which client - if you spend more than an hour a day on Nostr, you're going to see a lot of content again and again and .... Nostr still very much feels tiny.

and who's paying them? Wouldn't be the first time that what's on paper, doesn't match reality. Not to mention that these reviews are worthless, if you get a fradulent binary - which is real easy, if it's a state actor.

You probably tried the wrong server. If you follow the right people, and curate your timeline a little, it's quite fun. Of course it shows that Mastodon probably has 100x the users that Nostr has.

But yeah, that's one of the problems; You gotta find a good server to start with, and explore from there. Lots of trash too ...
